In my opinion, life has meaning, yes, but everyone has a different meaning to their life. Each person has a set path for their life. I could be off by a longshot or I could be right, we may never know

To me, happiness is measured in personal success. That is my meaning in life.
I would say it's the other way round. Personal success is measured by how happy you are. That's my meaning of life. I'd much rather be happy than successful any day.
*facepalms self for being stupid*

That's what I meant before!
Hehe, I did wonder! But I didn't want to question it too much, in case it was some personal philosophy of yours that had got you through life so far!

That's XKCD, amirite? One of my favorite strips of it, to boot.

OT: I believe we live to procreate and spread ourselves to the far reaches of our planet (and eventually space) learning as much as we can in order to enrich the knowledge of our species.

Find a world view that fits the qualifications of being intellectually credible (rational and coherent) and existentially satisfying (true, as well as fitting for ones needs).
If it is one but not the other, what good is it?

If it's intellectually credible (makes sense) but brings no truth, no purpose, no satisfaction or happiness to your life, it's just an idea that makes sense and nothing else. It's as functional as saying football is football: makes sense but so useless it's not worth saying. Cold knowledge, facts, science, they make sense, but they don't exist to bring you worth or meaning as a human being. Thus they're rational, but unsatisfying.
If it's existentially satisfying (it fits your needs and brings happiness and purpose and meaning) but doesn't make sense, that might be a placebo. Something that you convince yourself that gives happiness and purpose, but it really doesn't. Money, pleasure, they're pursuits that give happiness, but not lasting happiness- it's a selfish spurious happiness that's much more an addiction than it is a meaning to life, and thus would be satisfying but not rational.

Only a truth claim or world view that is both is worth holding on to. Seek it with every fiber of your being, find it, and you will live a purposeful and happy life.
Very little attention is payed to these things these days. Regard for "the meaning of life" and "why are we here" are questions said by society to be asked by other people, religious leaders, philosophers, scientists, but I would posit that it is imperative that every person discover what is right and not leave it for someone else, or else their meaning in life will become occupied with their fantasies and hobbies and obsessions, and then every part of our mind and purpose will be dominated with whoever and whatever can fill those fantasies and hobbies and obsessions. Unless one stops and thinks about the big questions for themselves, every moment of their life is escapism.

Asking for the meaning of life ..in a videogame forum full of *sry* Nerds without real life...
OHH the irony
The fact that this is asked on a website about escaping to past-times and humor is ironic.
The fact that most people are escaping the question of a serious capacity, is not.

I'd say we are born to live and die eventually. If we were born to die, say we wouldn't be alive in the first place. That would be a bit silly.

Is there a point or meaning or something in life? I don't know, but I don't really need to know either. I don't see why life needs a great meaning or something. I can set my own goals and try to have a good time. But if someone feels they need to find a meaning, then sure, have fun with that.

I honestly think we are born into this word without meaning, BUT, I believe that we can and should make meaning in our lives.

If you knew the answer... you'd be God.

Seriously though, no person have ever know the answer to that question and people have been contemplating it for all of human history. I don't think you're going to get the answer on a video game website message board.

The universe has been bugging me lately. Thoughts about how the world started and why it started have leaked into my mind. Then thoughts of death have leaked in too. During these days I have understood that we are born to die, so what's the point of living (I am not suicidal because I am afraid of the unknown)?
Basically, life has no objective meaning, but it can mean something subjectively. I can't tell you what your life is for, but you can think about it for yourself. What values do you hold? What is/are your ambition/s? Do you want to be Wise? A great Sports-person? Do you want to raise a family? Whatever is most important. Live for what you love, then you'll love life. In my case I love learning, so the purpose of my life is to try and attain wisdom, and I love my girlfriend, so the purpose of my life is also to make her happy. Do what you feel you need to do. Just try not to hurt people in the process.

And as for death, don't worry about it. When Death is, you are not. When you are, death is not. So why fear what you can never be?
