Mega Man in SSB

Hey,

Can anyone tell me why, after three installments, Mega Man has yet to make it into any of the SSB games. Mega Man is one of the oldest and longest running game series in Nintendo history, yet he hasn't been honored in this way. I certainly think that the Mega Man game series has been more influential than say Kid Icarus or Ice Climbers, yet both of these characters have been introduced. The only explanation I can come up with is either that Nintendo isn't willing to negotiate with Capcom, or that Capcom simply isn't willing to allow Nintendo to use the character at all.

Help me out, because I'm confused and would have loved to see Mega Man make the roster.

Nintendo doesn't want megaman. capcom was willing but nintendo never asked. Who they really need is banjo and kazooie.

They definitely should get Mega Man. Also Groudon as a Bowser clone would be a fucking dream for me.

Toon Ganondorf would work. Gene is owned by Squaresoft, now SquareEnix though. So it is far from likely.

If they do make a new one, I'm hoping for an actually Golden Sun playable character.

Felix would be Kick ass.
Especially if his Final Smash would be him summoning Catastrophe or Iris.

I personally want a character from Fire Emblem 7.
Hector would be an awesome character to play as.

I kind of wonder why other companies haven't done their own smash brothers style games. I know that capcom has their "* vs. capcom" series, but those games are more serious fighters. I like the craziness of smash brothers.

Hell yeah. There are two characters I really want to see and those are Isaac (Golden Sun) and Lloyd (Tales of Symphonia). I think both would make great additions with their varied styles. Isaac could have some solid melee attacks plus some devastating Psynergy attacks. Lloyd could have fast melee combos and have some cool special attacks.

Megaman would be pretty cool to see, but I doubt it would happen. Although, Snake made it in, so it may be possible.

Edit: oh wait, didn't really understand what you were saying, I just skimmed through and thought you wanted a new Mega Man game.

Yeah, he should definitely be in SSB (Super Smash Brothers, right?), he's an icon.

Any Belmont
Ridley (playable)
Issac (oddly enough, he ended up as an Assist. I was very surprised he was even in the game)

That would be excellent, toss him as a light then put Smithy as a character. He could forge three of the other bosses from the game, pokemon trainer style.

Anyway, I'd love to see the ZX Megamen in SSB, but the regular Megaman looks so plain and boring.

Weird. I'll fix it now. Still want Mega Man in the next (if there's ever on (there will be)) SSB. Preferably Trigger.

Perhaps, but think of the potential. Let's say Mega Man's 'B' special is his buster cannon; this alone would not make him very unique, but then they incorporate Mega Man's adaptive arsenal by say: every time Mega Man scores a kill, he has the option to use a special move (i.e. DOWN 'B') and switch to a new kind of buster based on the character he just defeated. And then the duration/ammo, style, and power of the new attack could vary from character to character. It would be a really unique character style different from anyone else in the SSB universe.
