This really just makes me snicker. It's such a bad choice.
I don't really have strong feelings about Megan Fox. She's kind of pretty, I guess; there are worse actresses, but plenty of better ones. But there's absolutely nothing about her that syncs in my mind with any previous iteration of April O'Neil. She doesn't radiate intelligence, or guts, or curiosity, or much of anything except, "hey, look at the hot babe."
(Don't get me wrong, she could be a genius in person- but it's never been projected in any of the (admittedly limited) roles I've seen.)
In short, casting Megan Fox in the role doesn't seem like a TMNT choice; it seems like a Michael Bay choice. And thus far, everything about the project that has been uniquely Michael Bay has been what's most worth throwing to the wolves.
*shrug* It will probably be a huge success. I haven't really had any emotional investment in the 'Turtles since maybe the early nineties at the latest. I'm tired of bad movies getting big budgets thrown at them and people who ought to know better going to see them twice, but I'm on my way to fatalism and apathy on that score as well.
