Girl parts. Cats are somewhat considered to be female domain, what with crazy cat ladies and such, and their personalities are said to be more similar than that of men and cats. But when did orientation come into the equation, who knows. You should just feel free to have whatever kind of pet you prefer since you will be the one living with it.

The reason for this is probably that cats are quite girly: they're slender and even a bit frail, whereas dogs (real dogs, not those poodles) are strong and masculine. A man owning one of these [http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/53/CH_Renaissance_Hopeful_Impulse.jpg] would be called a ****** as well, I guess.

But then again, one could argue that if you'd rather live together with a strong masculine dog than a slender feminine cat, I'm probably gay. But then again, this would imply that you'd have a sexual relationship with your pet, and we won't even go there.

So I'm quite a bit undecided, I guess it depends on the type of cat and how he treats it. If he's dressing it in pink sweatshirts and talking to it in a baby voice, he probably comes across a lot less manly than if he has the big psychotic killer tomcat our neighbour calls his own.

As I am learning to become a professional, paid grammar nazi (A.K.A. Proofreader), I think he should have slapped them for being idiots. But yes, I agree with you on that.
How do you become a proofreader? What sort of training do you have to do? I'm a grammar Nazi myself (only a private at the moment) and that seems an interesting outlet for my grammatical OCD-ness.
Well, I just paid for a course (They are still on a discount until tomorrow >.>) with Chapterhouse.
Home learning course :3 And I can take my time :3 From as little as a month, to a year, as long as I want to take, and I can earn up to £21 as hour as just a proofreader (Standard recommended pay for a proofreader).
Of course, Chapterhouse is in the UK... you can sign up to it overseas, but it costs more. And achievement/qualification certificate is good for any country :3

I'm like the worst sociable person ever. A dog would be so annoying, I'd nail it to a wall, so to speak.

EDIT: I don't own any pets and think it is weird to own one at all.

I think this video might have something to do with the subject:

OT: My family has a cat, and when I move out I'm planning to immediately find myself a cat. I can't even imagine life without a cat running towards you when you open the door...

What kind of human being equates owning a cat with being "gay"? That's some type of middle school thought process going on there...they are one of the best pets to have depending on the breed. Before he disappeared my cat would play with me, go on walks with my family, etc. Funnest creatures to have around in my opinion personally.

I am usually not one for one-pic posts, but this picture is just so appropriate:

I mean really, does anything else need to be said?

Alright alright, more OT: I have 2 cats. Well, 2 cats have me, technically. One must accept being the slave of their feline overlords, it is law. And quite frankly, those girls are retards if they talk like that. Move to a better, less judgemental, less pre-conceptualised (if that's a word) crowd.

My ideal pet situation would be one medium-sized dog (preferably a really lazy Border Collie, sadly they're now known for being lazy) growing up with 2 cats. All together as one big family. A rat and/or ferret can join in too. I luv pets.
ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNO CAT

I've heard of this, but in my opinion it's bullshit because cat's are probably going to take over the world some day. Might as well stay in good standing with them.

Male,

While I personally don't own a cat, all the cat's in my house belong to my mother..and there are 5, yes..5 cats. My mother's side of the family has always been crazy over cats, ive always had at least 2 around. I love them to death, they are wonderful animals, cute, cuddly and they actually have medicinal properties to them. they lower your blood pressure. not sure how it works but thats why you see cats in old folks homes. I also have a dog, shes perfect. I am more of a dog person. only because dogs are extremely fun and loyal. My dog is a Pure breed rough collie. she is 4 years old and is the sweetest dog in the world, very smart. i had a collie-shepherd cross before this one, she was a great dog to, she lived to 17.

anyway..i rambled too much, but..yea. owning cats is not weird by any stretch for a guy.
