Hello mates! Do you have somekind of mental instability? and if you do how do you handle it? Or do you have somekind of "contact" with somebody that suffer from a mental instability?

I know this questions are a bit odd but I'm mostly asking cos' two days ago I got diagnosed with that I'm a sociopath, I suffer from post traumatic stress and I got some "version light" of schizofrenia. I really don't bother any of the 3 things, I really couldn't care less really but it got me thinking how others handle and live with their mental instabilities.

I also hope you don't feel offended by the questions, have a good day.

I wanna be one of the counter-counter-culture people here to say that I have no mental instability whatsoever. But ignore the naysayers. *Cough*

Craziness runs in my family, so I'm somewhat insane.

I crazy enough to know that I'm crazy so that makes me sane. (Think about it)

My user name isn't Korak the Mad because I like the name, I am somewhat mad.

Also I have Asperger's syndrome, so I have always been somewhat eccentric, especially in how I think.

Apologies in advance because I'm getting progressively prickly at having a doughy faced slapping target grinning and simpering like a total cretin at me every time I click on a thread. Obligatory spelling Nazi time:

*ahem* schizophrenia (don't think even Americans spell it with an 'f').

OT: Major depression... which I deal with by just getting on with my life and having friends with whom I can piss about with.
Schizophrenia... which I deal with by just getting on with my life... and shooting things at any given opportunity (on my PC monitor for kosher-ness).

I do. I have adhd. So many people forget that it has so many more implications than not paying attention; plus it doesn't help that my medication increases my heart rate and puts my emotions on a roller coaster. It can be hard to deal with because many do not understand all that comes with it and they are quick to brush it off, but I find comfort in my art and stories, otherwise I would just lose it.

Edit: Plus, I have a touch of A.S. That is a new discovering, or rather diagnosis, that I don't want to really think about because I know people who have it and mine is only a touch.

I bet you even have a healthy social life, 'My Lord'.
One time I even spoke to a lady.
Woah... What was it like?

Well, I'm just about over the depression, so I think technically speaking I qualify as normal. Or undiagnosed crazy, anyway.

Well, aside from the red button HAUNTING me,
I have PTSD, Dysthemia, major depression, I go to a psychiatric hospital, my best friends suffer from PTSD, and I have this schizophrenic close friend that hurts herself all the time.
Really. Two nights ago she stuck safety pins into her skin and took it out elsewhere.
She also cut herself everywhere.
Yes, Everywhere.
Yes, even there.
...
...
I'm also kinda paranoid and suffer from Social anxiety.

Psychiatrist diagnosed me, mum and my younger brother with Asperger's syndrome. I got out of the draft because of it, which was nice - and I am quite capable of leading a healthy life despite of it. If there was a cure found tomorrow I'd probably stick with Asperger's.

I won't self-diagnose, because that just tends to breed bullsh*t, but I do wonder if I'm 100% in the old brain pan. Went to a psychologist when I was 12, he reached the conclusion that I suffered from little to no self-esteem and emotional fragility, otherwise I'm *supposedly* fine.
Edit: On reflection, I'm kinda far down now and again, so I may suffer some form of depression. I don't know nor pretend to. I may also have touches of OCD.
Edit 2 - electric boogaloo: My best friend suffers a lot of the same problems, but also has a hair-trigger temper, as well as being a self-proclaimed compuslive liar. And a common friend of ours has quite a few too, most notably a tendency to get anxiety/panic attacks in the middle of huge crowds and so forth.

People with Asperger's usually do live healthy lives. It's great, from my professional standpoint, to see that you know you lead a health life :D
