Meh, Mercenaries never struck me as particularly involved. I skipped the first one, and I'll probably skip this too. Not because it looks bad, it just doesn't catch my attention in anyway. I can blow stuff up in a lot of games.
I want the game, but moreso for the reason yahtzee loves painkiller than any game with actual substance that I want. You can have them drop a fucking monster truck in the game or even a nuke, totally fucking awesome. Don't expect a good story as much as one that makes the drunken fratboy in you feel awesome.Did anyone else think the first one was just a sub-par third person shooter with an alright-at-times story to hold it all together? Let me know if you agree or disagree, I'd like to hear your opinions either way.
Since when can you call up carpet bombing and artillery strikes in GTA?! Seriously though, I think the "destruction on demand" (to steal a phrase from The Outfit) was probably the coolest thing about the game. Also, I kinda liked the extra challenge of trying to capture, as opposed to just blowing up, the Officers. The seperate "boss" missions were also pretty cool as well. Mercenaries had alot of potential so I hope they take advantage of that in the sequel because I did enjoy the first.Iron Mal post=9.70079.680104 said:Average, a sandbox game with its only unique feature being that it isn't set in a city and your missions are for a military contractor rather than your local gang (sign up today for GTA!).
