I like the kind of Metal that you can't really put in a particular sub genre.. Strapping Young Lad, Iron Maiden, Faith No More, Soilwork etc etc

Dammit ninja'd again. At least in saying the Nightwish part. My favorite song by them is The Poet and The Pendulum from the Anette era and from the Tarja era is all of them.

I do however like thrash, power, symphonic, heavy and "regular" metal, as well as some stoner metal(no, I don't smoke).

I like pretty much all metal, from Napalm Death to Sonata Arctica. Especially the more "Hard Rock" end of the metal spectrum (or should it be plectrum? Maybe not, that joke was shit.)

Anyway: Favourite Metal band of all time? Definately Iron Maiden, the gods of metal, though I'm really into Devildriver and Avenged Sevenfold right now.
And it's Flash of the Blade, just a brilliant song.

I like all kinds of metal (except for the eatable once) none much more than the other. But when you say "Metal!" my reflex will be "Metallica!"
Only thing I really can't listen to is metal where the singer has a screaky hihg-pitched voice where I need to make up what he says in the song. Though it could be fun to make that up yourself. But then again, won't mind listening to it if the instrumental part is good.

I completely agree. A few months ago that was my favourite song as well. I have since changed favourite bands but Nightwish is still second.

Thrash is my favourite, like The Big Four (especially Anthrax!), Onslaught, Testament, Death Angel and Exodus.

However, most of my favourite metal bands are not thrash. In no order, Anthrax, Mastodon, Iron Maiden, Lamb Of God and Motorhead. Although all off them either are a thrash band, have been influenced by thrash bands, or have influenced thrash bands quite heavily.

I like most metal, but especially Viking metal and power metal. My favourite Viking metal band is probably Tyr. Or Turisas, although they're more folk metal. Be'lakor is also another great folk metal band. As for power metal, it'd have to be Manowar. No contest. A lot of people find them a bit over the top and silly, but I think that's just basically the point of Manowar.

I would have to say metalcore, after that its all grindcore, hardcore deathcore, actually i like some deathmetal and even a bit of powermetal specially when combined with aforementioned deathmetal.

I love a mix of all metal, but I guess right now I listen to a lot of power metal. If I were to make my own band it'd be a cross between 80s metal and power metal.

Favorite band is and always will be Metallica, favorite song The Four Horsemen. I feel like I've answered that question on this site so many times
