A 15 second long teaser trailer has recently surfaced about the next Metal Gear game. Now there is no indication of the title or even the platform the game will appear on, yet many believe the it will be for the Xbox 360. When I watched the trailer I thought: "Oh, that's kinda cool, I guess," but apparently the mere thought of a Metal Gear game on the 360 is enough to make people spread verbal bile all over the Internet.

So what's the big deal? What's so bad about a Metal Gear game on the 360? Why Metal Gear specifically? What about Final Fantasy, or Devil May Cry? My only guess it that these loudmouth cretins are trying pathetically to justify a $500 console over a $300 one.

Here's the URL to the trailer if you are interested:

Well there are (bear with me) people who like one system vastly more than the others and goes onto the internets spreading this. They are called fanboys/fangirls. Now the Metal Gear Solid 4 is a successful PS3 exculsive and well you can see how a fanboy would react to it becoming multi-platform (as you will soon see).

Look at the post right beneath the one I quoted....

Did you see the irony?

It's called making money.

More people have 360s, it's a good game...BOOM! MONEY!

Think if Mario came out on the 360. Fanboys/girls would be pissed, but Nintendo would make a lot of money. Maybe.

I honestly don't care, I found the game to be rather mediocre when I played it on a friend's console. But to answer your question, I agree, PS3 owners have been holding out for good exclusives, looking at their console as a long term investment, but with FFXIII turning, LittleBigPlanet and MGS4 are the only (allegedly) good exclusives they have

It'll take away the PS3's only truly great exclusive. And then the people who paid $500 dollars for the the PS3 just for Metal Gear are going to get pissed cause they could have just got a 360, with a lot of better games.

I thought that image was about the new metal gear acid game on the iphone, why do people think it means its coming to the 360? more on topic, people get pissed off because mgs has been a long time sony excluive, so its kind of shocking to the fanboys to see it branching out.

Seriously isn't spreading out a game to every platform a good thing?

It generates more income for the producers (CAPITAL! ...never mind Oblivion reference., it makes more people happy for playing the game on the platform they desire and it removes one point of argument from the fanboy 'the best console is X' arguments list.

And I wouldn't call it 'MS corruption' like some poor imp said, at best it'd be Kojimas selling out.
If there selling out, its fine by me, I wouldn't mind playing a MG game on my 360. Ive always loved them, but one game wasn't a good enough reason for me to get a PS3.

For a while there, there was talk about MSG4 coming out on the 360. All I can think is that the rumours were a lie or that Sony decided to throw enough money at the game until the they went away.

One theory I've heard is that the 2 lines are 180 + 180 and when you add them together you get 360 (thus the ring) and then the ring symbol also is the same one for the 360 power (though several other things like PCs/laptops have the same power symbol), and green generally represents xbox.

Sigh...Not to be all puppy dogs and rainbows, but maybe we can look at this (if it is actually true) as an opportunity for fans of the game to have more people to talk with about how much they like MGS4.

Seriously, you're a PS3 fan? Great. XBox? Cool. Wii? Right on. Let's all just grow up please.

the only people who get upset about this are fanboys, and their opinions don't count. they screamed just as loud when FFXIII and tekken 6 were announced to go to the 360 as well....

when big name games that were previously exclusive go multi-platform, all gamers win...
