Hey there guys just recently got Metro 2033 and i have got to say it is the biggest pile of #### so disappointed .

The levels are about 2 mins long, the enemys run out of you field of vision so you end up looking around like a mad man,the levels are far to linear which i tend not to mind but when there only 2 mins long gets boring fast, its not scary in any shape or form if anything more laughable, The narration to it is done by a boring monotoned actor who pulls off the crapist russian accent , There is no deepth to any of the other characters so you feel no connection to them

I could go on all day but i just thought id see what you guys thought

well, it was the S.T.A.L.K.E.R guys first attempt at a linear game, and the voice acting is pretty bad, even in there good stuff. I don't think it was really supposed to be scary either(I may be wrong), but everyone has and is aloud a different opinion, so I guess that it's all who you are.

You were expecting NON LINEAR METRO TUNNELS?

I love this game, and they give you plenty of ways to tackle later missions once it opens up.

I managed to stealth my way through a bandit base, and shoot it up. Throwing a knife in a guys head, sneaking up to his body, pulling it out, and throwing it in another guys head is a great feeling.

...You managed to use the stealth in that game...without failing...really.

It's hard. You need to use the watches LED sensor. You need to take your time. You need to turn off/break lamps. It's hard, but OH SO REWARDING. In loot...

Why do people complain that the stealth is broken? Stay in the shadows, don't step on broken glass or hit the can alarms. Wait for enemies to move before you move. Don't use the flashlight for obvious reasons, buy or find some Nightvision Goggles. If that fails, buy the freaking stealth suit and silenced weapons!

I almost got through the Black Station level undetected, but in the end a guard walked right up to me and stumbled on me in the dark, because I let him live earlier. So i had to shoot 3 guys and jump into the hole that led me to the end of the level. So I'd say stealth works.

Oh and the shooting is damn good, I really don't get it when some people complain about that.

The voice actor for Artyom is fucking horrible though. I'll give you that.

I think some people didn't like it because it was more realistic with stealth than most other stealth games, you know, when your enemies stare at walls most of the time. I also think the A.I is more advanced, I don't own it, I just played it at a friends house.

Not really. Not at all. It's a team of developers who split from GSC. So, they'd be ripping off themselves.

Plus, its not open. At all.

Is a linear game about the post-apocalypse in Russia a rip-off of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series? I'll go with no.

After buying crysis I knew what to expect. More hype about graphics features = Less focus placed on story.

It's made by a studio formed by people who left the studio who made STALKER. Similarities include post nuclear war russia and mutants. Not much else really.

STALKER is a free roaming FPS with a little RPG in it. Lots of guns and upgrades and an inventory system and "quests".

Metro 2033 is a linear (with some exploration) FPS with a huge focus on atmosphere. You can carry 3 and no inventory. The only "RPG" about it is that you find pre-war ammo and can trade it for weapons at a friendly station.

Well given that it's by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R guys, and the story is based on a book that came out several years before S.T.A.L.K.E.R.... that would be a no.

It's post-apocalyptic, so doesn't it just make sense that you would be a sort of lone ranger and not be too worry about others? I haven't played it myself, but that's the impression I get.

Ah, reminds me of Thief.

Damn kids these days who don't know proper stealth.

All the voice actors in the game are actual russians.

Other than that i have to say that the game was pretty disappointing.

I loved the game, I didn't really expect anything, and it was a pleasant surprise. But I guess different people like different games.
