Didn't he do The Rock? That was one of my favourites. Granted the rest of his movies are shit. I ain't defending the dickmuncher, but I guess he isn't a TOTAL fail in some ways.
Well, I don't think the problem is so much that he's terrible at what he does. I think it's that he and Platinum Dunes have a tendency towards taking famous franchises and "dirtying" them in the eyes of the fans of said franchises. If he stuck to his own work, people probably wouldn't hate him so much. Same with Boll.

I'm gonna go further out on this limb and suggest (though I don't think I was even born when most of the horror classics first debuted) that this whole thing may even be a case of the "lost in imitation" trope.

Why stop him when you can just ignore him?
Because there are far too many people in America for that to ever work. Boycotts fail if you don't organize and cut a significant amount of the target's profits. Fact is that as long as Bay is entertaining, it doesn't matter if he's actually good for anything. Paris Hilton and the like are prime examples. What has Paris ever done to be famous? Well, she's famous, which makes her entertaining, which makes people pay attention to her.

Wise words my friend. Wise indeed.

He's not directing. Just producing. Besides, TMNT was already ruined by the last movie. At least to me it was.

As for Monster Hunter, I've never hurt of it.
Monster SQUAD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_squad

Written by Shane Black (of Lethal Weapon fame and was the guy with glasses in Predator)

I loved this movie as a kid. Basically a group of kids must fight against all the classic movie monsters. Think the Goonies meets It meets Van Helsing, It's probably incredibly cheese for nowadays but I loved it for one scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzeNF3rV1NA

Considering they have made about 3 or 4 animated shows, another animated movie and new toys, the turtles are kinda beyond nostalgia for me.

All I want- ALL I want- is a TMNT experience- And really, I don't care if it's a movie or show or whatever- that washes away the sins of that goddamned 80's cartoon.
Here, read this- http://www.ninjaturtles.com/comics/mirage/one/pg01.htm
Poor pacing, I suppose, but still somehow... compelling.
I mean, I didn't become a fan of an admittedly failing franchise (Hey, at least it's focusing on the relationships and being generally interesting, instead of LolOmgGiantRobotAndBlimps.), just to go and see "April 'n' Casey (And friends)

The period at the end of the URL mucks it up.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a kid's series. So was Transformers. People should stop acting like Michael Bay has shat on some sort of sacred cow and just enjoy the mindless violence.

What's the reason for all this remaking crap anyways?
It's the Nintendo model, homes. Why do you think they keep releasing sequels and remakes of old games? Easy. It sells. People like nostalgia and they like sticking with names they recognize.

Verily, since Movie Bob's whine about The Fallen, Michael Bay is the hip thing to hate.
Bay bashing has long predated Bob's review of that movie.

Sadface

Ah well not like anyone can stop him anyways
