Michael Bay: Today is "Day One" For Transformers 3

Director Michael Bay has announced that "Today is Day One" for the third Transformers movie, with a planned release date of July 1, 2011.

Michael Bay, as seen in the clip above, is well known for his love of special effects, military hardware, and lots and lots of stuff blowing up. So some might say that this makes him the perfect choice for the director of the live-action Transformers films. On the other hand, some might also say that he's a hack who ruined the franchise with 2007's Explosions and this year's Explosions 2: Revenge of the Hard-to-Follow Fight Scenes.

Whether you like the films or hate Bay's guts, though, it won't change the fact that he's the man in charge. And in a post personal news blog [http://www.michaelbay.com/newsblog/files/a2bd79bb4c222b807e27707aaf1497e6-570.html], Bay confirmed that today, October 1st, marked "Day One" for the next Transformers trilogy:

[blockquote]Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.

Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3.

Michael[/blockquote]

New characters, huh? Maybe we'll get some Decepticons that are colors other than plain gunmetal black or military gray so that we can actually tell them apart in fight scenes. That'd be kind of cool, Michael Bay. You should look into that.

Or at least see what you can do about licensing The Touch [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZKpByV5764]. Pretty please?

Including being totally upstaged by the leggy blonde chick until it turned out her tongue could lick your tonsils and your toes at the same time :\

Isn't day one of a Michael Bay film very similar to the final day of a dynamite domino rally convention?

Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear.

Please tell me that Megan's character gets killed in this one? That alone would make it worth watching. That and the explosions.

Bay again, huh? Then I guess I'll just do what I did when I went to see the 2nd movie this year... lower my expectations until they're basically non-existent. If you watch the movies with that kind of attitude they're bearable (and even entertaining at times) and I tend to forget that my childhood is being raped.

Here we go again...

[small](I wonder which giant, super-powered decepticon they'll kill off in ten seconds this time.)[/small]

Bay isn't a director, go and look at a picture of him, he's some hack 80's action movie actor who has somehow managed to end up in charge.

Somehow I'm going to destroy Michael Bay and replace him with Michael Mann, don't know how yet, I'll get back to you. But if Michael Bay suddenly gains a load of weight, goes bald and grows a bloody brain you'll know I figured it out.

Yay, another bout of people lusting over Megan-Bloody-Fox, who proves once and for all that the vast majority of people think that Slutty is synonymous with Sexy.

She's not even that pretty.

Yeah I said it.

Also, Bay needs to get a better CGI director so it doesn't look like the Transformers are on some sort of alternate, similar 'plane' of existence.

Good good. I'd quite like another film with some cool explosions and hot women.
Suck it, you bloody elitist snobs.

I'm not sure how to feel about this.

But since Micheal Bay is directing I'm going to expect a lot of... BAYSPLOSIONS!

The news team picked a nice clip to go with this. That South Park ep perfectly described him. XD

Edit: DAMNIT! I got ninja'd.

MI-BA-BLA-BA-SPLOSIONS

I like explosions, and I like Transformers, so I'll likely like the movie. Don't kill me.
