Why would you buy multiple 360s when you can get yours fixed for free?
RRoD knee jerk joke syndrome plus fanboyism = most of the posts in this thread.
When was the last time you actually had a RRoD anyway?
Hell, if you want to go down that road, how many of the 120 million PS2s were multi system buyers due to the shitty disk drive?
Have some perspective, people.
About 1%, a few thousand, I could imagine, as it was hardly the 33% the 360 has...
I have stated my opinion on the RRoD before, I find it absolutely atrocious of Microsoft to ever have let this slide past with a 33% failure rate. People don't realize that that is a pretty big fucking number, 1 out of every 3 360s will crash and that's ONLY the RRoD, that's not including the E74 error and others.
Coming from the #1 Sony Fanboy of this site, if my PS3 broke down on me 3 times, it's strike out for Sony. 1st time, okay, things happen. 2nd time, fine, I want my games. 3rd time's the charm, you're out of here, you cannot expect me as the customer to keep on doing this for you (though to be fair I'd probably be a complete hypocrite and send it in for more repairs...)
I don't give a shit if you can send it in for free and get it back in a week or two, if I end up expecting my console to fail on me then something is wrong. All of my friends with 360s have had to send in their consoles a
minimum of 3 times. No other console has this problem, and it's absolutely atrocious of Microsoft to let this happen. Don't get me wrong, plenty of other electronics manufacturers have some of these problems, for example the exploding batteries in Sony laptops, but at least they recalled all of them and it hasn't happened since (at least as far as I know).
I don't give a crap if it's free to send it in, I should not have to worry about my 360 RRoDing every time I turn it on. I'm sorry if I'm sounding really fanboy-y or something, but I am completely appalled at how Microsoft let this happen, I truly do, free fixings for then next 5 times or not.
