Honestly I wish Valve would make me pay for it on the PC. That way there would be no complaining.

Well, there would be less complaining.

how weird, a company that wants to make money!?!? ODD!!
You know, that argument is starting to sound really stupid.

If it is free on PC then it should be free on all platforms. The same goes for everything else, it punishes people for buying games on a certain platform and that is not fair.

If they charged on all platforms then your argument would be valid.
"We own our platform, Steam. Microsoft owns their platform. They wanted to make sure there's an economy of value there," said Faliszek.

Valve can release it free on PC since it's through their own platform, they don't own Xbox Live. They're a company and they need to make money, that is not in the least bit stupid.

Edit:

Well, the first half was well said, may have gotten slightly over the top towards the end, but most of it was spot on, if a little aggressive.

Eh dammit. Oh well atleast it's not more than that like $10 or $15 wish it was $5 though. Why $7 such an odd number of MS points.

Big deal, we have to pay $7 for new DLC. I'm a rich SOB, I have $250 in my wallet alone so it doesn't bother me too much. Besides, Microsoft knows we're going to buy the DLC anyway regardless of the price they put on it so relax; save the price moaning for MW2's price tag.
So you basically just said FUCK THE POOR!?

Thank god I'm a PC gamer <3
Dude, it's $7. Who's poor enough not to be able to buy something for $7 let alone the $300 console you have to have in the first place to play the DLC.

Jackasses. Microsoft started as a homebrew corporation in a Silicon Valley garage, now they're the most greedy bastards on the face of the planet.

are you always a dick?
Always? When have I ALWAYS been a dick? How am I being a dick now? It's $7. Why are people making such a fuss that the DLC is $7? I know Valve has always had a thing for releasing DLC for free but this much uproar for $7? C'mon!

$7 adds up and paying $7 shows the producer that you are willing to pay $7 in future. Microsoft has departments where they work out how much they make off dlc compared to how many customers they get and your attitude is the green light for them to try for $8 next time.

$7? I can get entire games for less than that (legally!). Maybe it's time to switch some of the hatred recently directed towards Activision and Tim Langdell back to the ol' Evil Empire, eh?

Anyone think that it's a bit weird for someone to just step up and openly bad-mouth a business partner like that? I think this might be yet another attempt from Valve to push out some "agenda-news" to discourage its Xbox 360 fanbase. Not only did he get to slant the Xbox 360 but he even had time to plug the Steam platform. Give that man a raise!

Dear Microsoft:

Half of the reason why people buy Valve games in droves is because they know that Valve releases content for free long after the initial release. It's a great business model, and it's whats made TF2 (And Valve)so ungodly popular. When you charge for game content which was intended to be free, you break the model. Sure, you can do it. You are absolutely allowed by the laws of business. You are also allowed to continue this trend when L4D2 sells 4 copies on your system, because absolutely everyone is getting it on PC, or leaving in frustration. So congrats Microsoft, you failure to research is going to lead to a major franchise being worth nothing to you.

This pretty much. I mean, what the fuck is up with these guys? First the Halo 3 ODST DLC and now this? Maybe they started taking classes with Capcom about stupidity in these matters. And I do not even own a 360 or intent to buy L4D but this still bugs me like hell.
