Okay I have noticed certain trends on XBL that I would like to share with you now.

Buying points from xbox live - you can never get the right amount of points for anything - much DLC is 800 points, some games are 1200 and picture packs etc are 200.

These are the common costs for these products, so why cant you buy microsoft points equal to or divisible by these numbers?

You always have to get an extra 2/300 points.

Its the damn hotdogs all over again?

I mean if you but enough points you will have leftovers to eventually get something else. I have 200 points in my account for the last 6 months

EDIT: Wii users can rant too!

Profit.

Also it's supply and demand. They over supply you and then you're forced to demand more products.

Word is that they are getting rid of the 'points' system all together.
The Escapist had a news article on it recently, though I can't be bothered to find it right now.
I'm lazy...and at work.

It's a money thing. You're left with a small quantity of points, so shit like Gamer Pictures and Themes suddenly become extremely attractive prospects.

/has purchased gamer pictures from Dead Rising due to this very phenomenon.

Hmmmm hotdogs....oh sorry got abit carried away there. Points are always a ***** and I do hope they get rid of them and add something like on the PSN then I can see how much money I waste on DLC.

I think they also try to make their products seem cheaper by keeping the cost slightly less than points you can buy. It's completely ineffetual though.

I don't mind them, since I buy my points cards cheaper than what Microsoft charges for them, so I get my DLC and games for less money then the normal price.

How are they like hot dogs though? Is it because buying Microsoft points makes you feel like you're chomping on a wiener?

Yeah, it's because Microsoft is only second to Disney in being malicious, greedy bastards. Microsoft WISHES they were more evil than Disney though, imagine if they were!

I have 350 points right now, I need 50 more to buy Ikaruga (is that how it's spelled?) and I really don't want to have to buy $5 worth of points!!!
