Alright, good for those people that bought it, the only way id allow a Kinect into my house is if i got it for free, no way in hell would i pay for an idea the Eyetoy already did.
Dont mind me, ill just be playing games with a controller, you know, that thing that makes playing games a lot easier than using a device that cant even do its job right nor supply actual games.

I'm 6 foot 3 inches, and can touch my ceiling without jumping.... I am afraid of making holes!!!
That could be a problem.
You really think so?

I was just about to invest in some 'ceiling hand made holes from jumping while flailing your arms about' insurance.

Should I wait then? Thanks for the heads up!

:p
no problem, just be careful and don't hurt yourself,
Don't worry, I am forced by the state I live in to wear a safety helmet just in case!

Seriously tho, I would love to have the Dance game, and the Yoga workout game, if my living space was adequate.

The facial recognition and voice command features are friggin cool too.

EDIT: Another friend request thingy! Thanks!
that's reassuring

OT: until MS can come up with good AAA titles with good implementation of Kinect's control scheme not on some shitty party games, I won't buy it.

I'll admit I'm a Sony fanboy but even Move don't appeal to me.

I just don't get motion control, sure it's cool 20 years ago when it's still in theory and now seeing how ridiculous it is. meh no thanks I'm sticking to good old fashion controller.

In the defence of some games companies who actually want to make good quality Kinect games.

Have you seen the 'Hardcore' Kinect titles announcement? Some of them sound pretty good and have a hell of a lot of talent behind them.

Buying something which costs $200 which has yet to prove itself is dumb. I'm sorry, but that's just how it is. These people have fallen for all the marketing and so forth and have invested their hard earned money into something which they don't even know they'll enjoy. People can buy what they like, but they should at least be smart about it.
.....and we wonder why the industry can be so scared of inovation, things fall flat before they can reach their potential because of this very attitude.

yes early adoption is often a gamble but use abit of judgetment and you'll come out ok. Its also what keeps a new product or tech up long enough for the price to come down.

I have not had an opportunity to demo a Kinect yet, but I have seen stores that carry some of the release titles. I noticed a few exercise games, and a couple of dance games, and the kinectimals thing. So far, I haven't seen much to make me want to shell out the money to get one. My brother has a friend who got one in the first week they were released, and he seems happy enough with it. Aside from that, I haven't spoken with anyone else who has one.
I was disappointed to see that the bundle systems went from eight gig to the two hundred fifty gig system... and I dislike the prospect of the eight gig. After you consider how many updates, patches and whatnot you need just for the system alone without including game updates and save game files, how long is that space going to last?

More power to Microsoft for being to push over two million of them through the doors already, as the holiday shopping season has already begun I'm sure they have an ample opportunity to reach their expected sales numbers. Don't be surprised to see that they will start making reverse patches for some older games to work with Kinect in the future once they hit a wall on new Kinect-related titles to bridge the gap until developers catch up.

Microsoft: "Hmm, let's see. Cater to millions of people who want a casual experience, or cater to people who think everything they don't like is stupid and who insult us at every turn."

No wonder these are selling like crazy.

Guess what everyone: YOU are the idiots. Gaming isn't catered solely to you anymore. So far I haven't actually seen a single legitimate argument against the Kinect aside from "BOO NO WANT!"

Welcome to the new world. Adapt to it, or shut up and go away, because all you're doing is being that vocal minority everyone hates. Including you. If you're going to argue without reason, at least do it right for Christ sake.

I'm looking at getting one. I'm as hardcore as they come. You know why I want one?

Because I played it, and it was fun.

OH MY GOD I MUST BE A CASUAL GAMER!
I'm getting results out of Kinect, what kind of results is Black Ops producing? Leaderboard scores? hahaha

i tried the wii and im assuming its the same general idea as kinect...correct me if im wrong. But for me motion control doesn't work i like having direct control of my character and i feel like waving around like an idiot won't and does not work for me. Also i already give microsoft enough of my money, it does not need more. AND the room with my xbox/tv does not have enough room for kinect, i think there was a enn on the topic

http://www.foxtrot.com/

be sure to hit the link its pretty funny if you have not seen it

I have a kinect but no xbox (and I certainly don't intend to get one anytime soon): if it wasn't for openkinect, I wouldn't even have cared about it as I'm not the target for kinect games (not my type of games, sorry).

Good thing that, unlike Nintendo with the wiimote, they gave up stopping modders (which is a good move imho given they get extra sales).

Innovation of hardware is hardly needed. Since software is so cheap I'm all for people buying experimental games. But hardware is a much larger investment and because of that, people should hold out on these sorts of big purchases.

Well we have different preferences on our games so if that's what you like I respect want your opinion.
