I'll take the higher quality format personally, fuck digital downloads. I will never buy a system that relies solely on digital downloads, that's just a bad idea in my opinion.

Hey, if you're happy to provide MS with more money, just because you're lazy, that's fine by me. =)
Lolwut?

You pay Sony more money if you're lazy... the whole no disc swapping thing.

Paying Microsoft doesn't make you lazy...

You had a fair and balanced argument until then -_- how disappointing.

Another day, another idiotic claim from someone in the video game industry Microsoft and/or Bobby Kotick. Whether it's just about anything Bobby Kotick says, or that Kinect guy claiming that "nobody plays PC shooters anymore", it's becoming easier to understand why so many people don't take video games seriously.
Sorry dude, it needed correction ^^^

Bluray is gonna be passed by as a format. Yes, that's why it's constantly being progressed by researchers and engineers and is responsible for new developments like in home 3D movies as well as being very useful for its storage capacity.

People can instantly stream a 1080p movie. Yes cause everyone has a connection capable of streaming true 1080p without pauses for buffering and of course they have unlimited bandwidth allowance from their ISPs to watch as much as they like and everyone loves digital content which they don't actually own or have the ability to do much with.

I'm not in anyone's ball park, I have an XBox and a bluray player but I just think he's not quite got his finger on the pulse.

As a side note, PC's have 'ignored' bluray because currently DVDs are the standard device installed in a PC. This is because of the cost of bluray drives, the exact same thing happened with DVDs, I had a DVD drive a considerable amount of time before games adopted them as the primary format.

Yeah, it's why I edited it a few minutes after I posted. It's actually not lazy to pay Sony more, up front, because...it costs more, thus requiring more work to attain on the front end =)
What?

... I mean really... what?

Just... what?

Paying Microsoft $10/game for, literally, nothing. Is simply illogical. You buy 10 games from MS, and congratulations, you just made up the difference between a PS3 and a 360. Better yet, try upgrading your HDD ;)
Microsoft games are $10? When was this?

Again... what?

Xbox 360 + 10 games = the price of a PS3... okay...

Ps3 + 10 games = more than the price of a PS3 so there is no logic there...

I upgraded my Xbox HDD about 2 months ago.

It cost me around £30... That's not bad going from 20GB to 120GB in one go.

FLash Drives/Cards?? BluRays can hold upwards of 25gigs of HD content per side!

20-25 gig flash drives still arent cheap!! and BluRays are only a buck or two at most to make.
Finally someone says it. Flash drives are still way to expensive to use for games, due of their size mostly.

What a shitty argument that is. "No, we totally don't have a disadvantage in disc formats, because we offer HD downloads". What the hell? How does that even compare and is he seriously predicting the Xbox to go full DD before they have another console or another drive? Bullshit.

Of course nobody needs it... nobody needs videogames in general, lol. Fact is, the same games that are available on PS3 can be readily/easily ported to the 360 and has been. There's a large rift between "graphics" and "gameplay".

But hey, "fair critiques" don't make good forum fodder... so: "Personally, I think its funny how the company most concerned with graphics has the least amount of must-play exclusives. I don't buy a console until I'm sure there's 10 games for it I need to own."

EDIT: With data storage getting smaller and smaller, I'd like to see what the cartridge would look like/perform like in 2010? Wouldn't you love instantly-loading games again
The 3DS is coming :D I remember reading that it will in fact be based on cartridges that can (initially) store around 2GBs of data. This is of course only make me curious as to what kind of monstrous capacity will the PSP2 have since 2 GBs is current PSP's limit. o_O

Well, if mommy and daddy pay for your games and you have absolutely no experience in a work environment, I can understand your confusion, otherwise, you're simply being stupid for no reason.
I'm a full time student. Even if I could get a part time job I;d still be earning almost nothing.

But actually I wasn't applying that to me. I was thinking about the people stuck in crap paying jobs.

Oh I'm sorry you get payed minimum wage but that's because you're lazy!

*rolls eyes* Seriously, you're being this thickheaded? When the 360 launched, new releases were $50. When the PS3 launched, MS jacked their prices to $60. That constitutes, no reason. Now, extricating your head from your ass, and realizing that Microsoft gains $10 per game they sell, over and above normal profits, you realize for the 10 games you overspent on, you could've saved that money and put (10x10 = 100, in case you're having trouble keeping up with this complex math) it to better use.

Congratulations on the HDD upgrade, you paid roughly $30 to twice the amount the HDD is worth.
Microsoft earn $10 more dollars. Microsoft also release Halo: Reach and buy out many 360 exclusives...

I'd say it's a fair cop, they get more money, I reap the benefits.

Seagate FreeAgent Go 120GB 120 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive
Price: £19.27

So that's for a PC. It's £10 cheaper than my 360 one.

So I overpayed £10 or $15... considering that since then I've been able to keep a hell of a lot more stuff on my hard drive I find myself okay with this.

And nice on the personal insults... I won't reply again.

There are lots of reasons why people make min wage, not the least of which is that the employers only pay min wage because they are greedy.

Besides, min wage workers keep your Big Mac prices down.
Exactly.

Thank you dude, that was my point. I said that ironically after what the guy I was quoting said.

Don't follow but that's ok. So long as you really aren't ripping min wage employees cause I too was a min wage employee years ago too.
No I wasn't. I sympathize with people who have to live on min wage.

Right now I wish I had any wage... I can't get a job round here at all cause they don't want to employ a 17 year old college student.
