Oh your a cute little one aren't you? Did you Dad let you have a day out from under that bridge?getoffmycloud said:In other news PC elitists are the lowest form of humanity and should shut up
Haha nice; my message there was simple enough. No platform is better than another. At any point hardware can become shot, due to lack of care, attention or luck; for PS3, Xbox or PC. We've all had PC problems, we've all heard about PS3 problems and we are all well aware of 360 problems.innocentEX said:Quoted for Truth, Thanks for reinforcing my argument, seriously Console Gamers? why you know move to Card Games... ???Bvenged said:innocentEX said:LoL Console Gamers... This is the only bit I don't agree with in your argument. Microsoft makes a ridiculous amount of its revenue from XBL from what I can see. Take that from the recent CES press conference MS said they had 40mil subscribers to XBL now I forget if they specified Gold members so this is a bit of speculation so work with me. If even just 1/2 of those are Gold members that means over a 6 month period MS makes $50*20*10^6 = $ 1000 *10 ^6. Now given that over the 6 month period from last year to Dec 31st MS had a total revenue of around 40,000 * 10^6(rounded up) that is 1/40 of the total company's revenue from 1 service alone.Trivun said:Free? You really expect XBLive to be free? It costs a hell of a lot of money to run, you know.
I wouldn't defend the console based on the brand. I'm sorry for your experiences which are far worse than mine considering how much more persistent you've been. I couldn't go through 4 hardware changes. I had one go red ring, replaced it with the Forza 3 special ed. with 250gb hdd a couple of years back and it's been fine since then. It's down to which chipset you have...any console in the last two/three years shouldn't suffer from the rrod issues.Zeckt said:Next gen microsoft NEEDS to lose the race because they are literally keeping gaming in the dark ages with their selfish tactics. In a perfect world everyone would buy games only for the pc so developers / consumers can enjoy freedom and the biggest hurdle for developers would not be the money to make the games, but only their creativity.
What is there to defend about the 360 other then brand loyalty?
I like the loud. Lets me know it's always working. I have had two Xboxs. The first one RROD on me after the first year and when I called Microsoft it to see if they could replace it they told me it wouldn't be for free so that sucked. So I will give you that one. Then I just bought a second one and that has been working for nearly 3 years. There getting better.sluggyfreelancer said:And another one who has theirs on most the day for that past 3 years. Is very loud though...
What are u talking about? People mod on Xbox. Its not as easy to do as PC and a much SMALLER amount of people do it, but there are mods on Xbox. Mod mean "Modification". That includes Jtag Cheats, Host Booting, or even minor things like Moding uniquely Colored Amor(My friend did), or even Moding an account to trick the system into letting u use DLC. Uhm.. Not that I have done that.Zeckt said:With the new patch we are bombarded with advertisements, and they have the guts to raise the price on live for something which really should be free. You have to have an active live account to have access to "perks" like netflix (thats a JOKE) and live ruined any communication with their community with their games. Just look at the sorry state of the dungeon defender dlc, microsoft acts like bloody money grubbing tyrants and just look at how it ruins games that thrive on dlc like l4d or team fortress 2. You cannot mod ANY game on the 360, which makes people who bought skyrim on the 360 insanely jealous of all the fun the pc community gets to have with user created content. Microsoft simply does not ALLOW us access to it because it contradicts their ideals.
Every other console manufacturer offers almost the same features for free. Many of the features they offer are actually p2p services and therefore cost them excactly nothing. Others like Netflix are run by external developers. You by far overestimate the costs they have.Trivun said:Free? You really expect XBLive to be free?
