That´s what you get when your lead designer is in a depression and takes heavy meds and CONTINUES to work...
I didn´t even know i was watching the same series.
The first half was like a awesome giant creatures in superarmor slaughterfest and the ocassional lolicoaster and comical parts, and then it all turned into a huge LSD mindfuckery.
Also, Mindfcuk for the game sector...the hole thing didn´t make sense to me.

<spoiler=when this happened>the main character( Iforget her name) dreams she gets out and drives away, only to have Juno's ghost sitting in the passenger seat of her car, which wakes her up in the cave. But, it wasn't all a dream, just the escape part. She then sees her daughter and a birthday cake.
I'm suprised nobody has mentioned the berserk anime. Yes, I know the manga continues on past where the anime leaves you, but you just kinda sit there with your jaw dropped the entire episode. If you haven't seen berserk yet, go out and rent it or something. The first episode is a filler episode to show you how badass the main guy becomes, and the other 25 episodes are the backstory. If you read the manga, you know that after his backstory is done, the world gets really really bad. It's a fun little story about mercenaries who grow close to eachother up until the end when they get raped and killed by demons.
How has no-one mentioned Eraserhead yet? That whole movie is one long mindfuck...
<spoiler=plot>He gets his gf preggers because he steps in a puddle on the way home from work, which the man in the moon has filled with semen. He leaves his socks on the radiator while banging his gf and the woman in the radiator does a dance with the sperm as they fall down the radiator. Then he meets his future father in law who is obsessed with his knees and the roast chicken comes alive. His baby is born deformed so he cut it in half with a pair of scissors. His head turns into the baby's head so he goes to the pencil factory and they turn him into the rubbers on the end of pencils.
Hmmm. sane.
