Those are awesome.

But the thought of maybe being outside, far from home, when night falls, and you hear wolves howling...

...Minecraft is a terrifying game.

If they add wolfs that walk around in water and people get excited over it, I wonder what will they think when they finally add the flyng elephants. :)
When the pre-update video of <link=http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Dragons>dragons comes out, many pants will be jizzed.

Wait, wait, wait. We're all forgetting something here. As of now, you must hit the creature (From what I saw in that video) you want murdered. So if you want a, say, tall green block with a permanent D: face to die, you better have some armor on...

You know what? Modders already do these things for free. Notch and his crew makes this game so slowly its excruciating. They should learn some work ethics from Wolfire Games.

Or shot an arrow at it and watch the pack run to their demise.

This looks interesting but I have the bad feeling that most players will just wind up touting around like 30 wolves and zerg rushing everything that even looks at them funny. Then there be that one guy who just has to see how far it goes and will wind up hacking the game to give himself several hundred wolves and posting a youtube video of a moving mountain following him... actually that'd be awesome.

You could always download a big pack of mods and pretend Mojang don't exist.

Just a suggestion.

My thoughts exactly. Modders have done more for Minecraft since it was released than Notch did.
Wow, a massive group of modders have done more than one person has.

Wow, a moderately-sized group of modders have done more than one person has.
More than the person who made the bloody game, yes.
It's the same story with Oblivion and Fallout 3. But I don't hear people complaining about that.

If you read Word of Notch, Notch's blog, you'll see as of late he's been traveling often for going to award ceremonies, being on vacation and finishing his diving courses.

Game developers have lives, y'know.

Probably 'cause Betehsda actually worked on more stuff for the game (DLC) after it was made. Notch has done practically nothing since Minecraft was released and is letting the modders do all the work for him.
...Beds? Squid? Dyes? More materials? Biomes? Readjusting the seeder? Releasing the seeder for public use? Saddles? Fishing rods? Cake? Pet dogs? The Nether?

Stop playing Minecraft for three months, then come back and see how it's changed. Especially now that his vacation and awards ceremonies are about done.

I thought it was mildly amusing, until one of the wolves ran up to the player and shook the water out of its fur. I had to laugh.

Then I saw how another wolf tilted its head when the player was holding meat.

I'll admit it. I awwww'ed.

For obvious reasons I am in favor of this. I could never send them in against a Creeper, though... I'd feel bad if they got explodified!

BEHOLD! My army of pink wolves!
Not entirely sure what I will do with them, but I guess I can just sic em on whatever hapless creature dares to spawn in my fortress atop Mt. Doom. Also, the update had better feature little balls or frisbees as well, cuz what else are you going to use to entertain your canine?
