Ok, so the whole night wasn't crappy. It was pretty good, actually. Spent the afternoon and all night at my friend's house configuring add ons for WoW, since I just got it. Had delicious Thai (beef goy see me, mild +... yumfactory). Played a bit, and leveled up, too.

In fact, most of the night was complete win. Really. And then it came time to go home. I packed up my computer. No big deal. I carried it down the stairs (he lives in an upstairs flat). The problem came when I carried it outside. It was raining. I took my shirt off, covered it, and started toward my car. The deck is wood. My flip flops are awesome Guinness ones I've been wearing for three years. They're worn. Rain, worn flip flops, and a wooden deck.

So, my computer is upstairs at his place, the video card's out, case is kinda bent, and it got some rain in it. Going to leave it to dry for a while, then reassemble it. Have to buy new screws to anchor the mobo to the case, because those are fucked. I don't know if it still works.

The only reason I'm not crying is that I just don't remember how. That and I don't know if all is lost yet. I don't exactly have the money to build a new one; I'm still paying this one off. Shitty fuck night.

Anyway, I want to know that I'm not alone. Share some stories so that we may commiserate together. As we all know, misery loves company.

Man, all mine are pretty much war stories, and not very fun for other people to read.

I mean, I don't want to burden you guys with scarring memories.

I don't know... how about I saw this guy I knew (who worked at a local Caltex, and I only knew him through acquaintance) get hit by another car, and then die. After being at the police station for a witness statement, I went home and kept reliving that horrific moment over and over again. I'm told what I'm doing is all quite normal, but holy fucking shit, I spent the whole day lying in bed thinking about it and being miserable.

One of the worst days of my life, by far.

Long story, so I'll just give the short version.

When I was 14, all of a sudden I became sick and by 8pm that day I was pretty much on death's door. They only just managed to get me into hospital, another hour and I would have died. My parents were traumitised, especially when the doctors told them I was going to die and if not I would have my left leg amputated (it was the source of the infection).

Luckily I recovered, but I still had half my left foot amputated and for a while I became suicidal.... well, sort of. I WANTED to die because of the excruciating pain but I could hardly sit up.

So yeah, horrifying experience but mostly for my parents. I've long since gotten over it and believe me, you'll get over your computer. People are quick to forget pain.

Wow, this wasn't intended to be that heavy a thread. I feel bad for lamenting my computer after Yassen's, at the very least.

Believe me, the best way to get over a frustrating experience is to think of worst times in your life or hear about the horrifying experiences of others.

I suppose that's why I'm glad I went through that experience. Every time something bad happens or I have to push myself to do something I just remember that time of my life, slap myself in the face and say "Come on Ben, you've been through worse. So pick up your act already."

The past three or four years of my life have been nothing but purest boredom and misery. I'm not going to elaborate why.

I had a touch-screen PDA-phone (Xda [http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Wallaby]) before they were cool, before the iPhone existed. A friend and I got drunk and went to a playground in the middle of the night and swung on the swings. It fell out of my pocket while swinging, and smashed on the concrete. I couldn't cry so I laughed.

I still get some guilt-mileage out of my friend, whose idea it was to go on the swings in the first place.

Also I fried my motherboard, CPU and RAM one time by plugging the PSU's ATX12V connector into the motherboard while the power was on. That sucked.

I have no life outside school, I live in a rural area and my parents won't let me walk along the side of a highway, I don't get them to drive me because then I have to organise shit, and I don't organise anything but my alarm clock. So yeh. FUCK. At least I'm not fat :) I'm underweight (it should be called "undermass" if they measure it in Kg) actually, juuuuuuuuuusssssssst undermass, my BMI is one point below healthy mass. So I'm grateful for that because I hardly ever eat healthy stuff, yay junk food.

I'm 16, never kissed a girl or been on a date, *head-desk*, At least I can outrun anyone, damn I can't focus on the bad things, I guess that's good. Sorry for the brightness in this post.

I'm probably going to lose my girlfriend of eight months because last night I was getting stoned with a friend and her **** of a friend decided to follow us around.

I pray for the day I get to tear her throat out.

I feel your pain.

I was just leaving my buddies Lan party when i realized that Lake effect snow just dropped a good 2 feet on us Upstate New Yorkers. Carrying My PC out to the car, I slipped and dropped the whole friggin thing into a snow bank, not 2 feet from my popped trunk.

That happened to one of my friends. We were all at another friends house and we were all leaving. He steps outside the door and the door smacks his case and he drops it. It still works but its like a frankenstein case all taped up.
