"Easier to play" =/= Easier difficulty

Easier to play could refer to gameplay mechanics thats make the micro-managing easier and less of a pain.
Almost word for word what I typed out before I decided to check other peopls posts.

Let it develop. Freaking out now wont do anything. Its a Zelda game. I'm sure everything will be hunky-dory.

We are assuming that "easier to play = less challenging." There's a difference between hard to play and hard to beat.

EDIT: Wow, I really should do what the person above me did, and check other people's posts...

I've always played Zelda because i enjoy the puzzles of the temples. I've actually been hoping they'd make the games harder, because lately they seem to have just become easier rather than the opposite. The Phantom Hourglass was just a joke and i never even bothered myself with Spirit Tracks... thus breaking my streak of having played every Zelda game in the series. It would really be a shame if they were to dumb down games further just because todays kids grow up to become more stupid as gamers than ever before.

Its odd how a bunch of brainboxed Japanese men believe Zelda has gotten complicated.
I beat Ocarina of time before I even turned 10 years, and that's not even impressive.
I mean, come on, don't Japanese kids stay in school for almost full weeks with pretty much no spare time because of their studies? Grown men should be able to understand that Zelda is by standards a pretty simple game.

Is it really hard for Nintendo to do what many games do and have multiple difficulty settings? You know the old fashioned thing thats been in games since oh i don't know DOOM back in 1994!

Easy: Wussies (and Justin Beiber)
Normal: Average Joe
Hard: A gamer with no fear
Insane: ABANDON ALL HOPE YE WHO ENTER HERE!

I have a bad feeling about this one, I went "o_O" when he said they were making it easier, sure a fair few of them have been challenging but they were always pretty damn easy imo. Modern gaming lacks proper challenge in gaming now and they're about to make Zelda even easier?

I sincerely hope they mean controls. Zelda's already easy as hell to begin with. _._ And why does everyone hate the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time so much? I loved that temple, and I don't understand why everyone hates it so much. It really isn't hard at all...

What. In. The. Hell.

Dumbing down Zelda?

This IS the same guy who gave us the Water Temple, Right?

I mean, I get that he wants to make Zelda more accessible, but dumbing it down?

I wonder what this will result in.

...And despite my efforts, people just keep callin it how they see it. No reasoning, no logical thinking, just more and more irrational, unnecessary hatred stewing in this thread. Shame.

Man, I know gamers have a hard time realizing non-gamers have it hard when they leap into gaming, but Zelda? It's crystal clear.

Then again, because it's already easy, no one plays it for the challenge anyway, so I say nothing is being taken away. Hooray!

Oh wait I don't have a Wii. Sad face :-(

Ugh. Yet another series being dumbed down for the masses. It's not even like Zelda has ever been that hard. Are people really so stupid they can't even play Zelda? sad.

Zelda games are already too easy, the newer ones anyways. If he dumbs it down any more they will no longer be fun.

Hey! I got a crazy idea! What if Zelda had difficulty levels? The easier you had it the more specific hints could be from Navi or Minda?

Remember how easy but great Wind Waker was? Think of Wind Waker! Everything will be fine!
I'm with this guy. With only about one or two minor snags, Wind Waker was the easiest Zelda game I've ever played, and easily my second favorite.
Sometimes, people, the fun of the game isn't in the challenge.

Oh for crying out loud, this is giving me a headache. I feel if I stay on this thread much longer my IQ will drop.

Wind Waker was great, yeah, but it would of been better had it not been rushed out. Anyone remember that Triforce Shard Hunt and how tedious and frustratiing it was to collect all of them? Easily the worst part of the entire game. And what comes after that? An incredibly lame boss rush and going through a boring maze fighting Phantom Ganon over and over. It's a shame that you have to go through all of that crap to get to the undeniably epic final boss fight. They actually had planned two more dungeons in that game and the unfinished versions of them can be found using Action Replay. They replaced those other 2 dungeons with the Triforce Shard Hunt. Stupid deadlines...
