Sadly, the existence of torture/rape/mutilation My Little Pony fanfiction doesn't surprise me.

...and I guess I can see what all the fuss is about with this show. I've been working my way through it slowly... the characterization is great, animation is simple but fun, nods to pop culture are funny and well-placed... but the writing is... well, it's a kids' show, so I shouldn't be too harsh. Let's just say the themes are simplistic and predictable, and the characters often ignore obvious solutions to their problems in the name of ham-handed moral lessons. But again, kids' show.
