MMO RPG players are not real gamers

From my experience with video games (MMO RPGs or any type of game) i see that the MMO RPG crowd seem to be very strict about who they interact or play with just asking for an invite to a guild will end you up with a 1000 word resume http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV37Jh6sQNk

But i ask myself why? Why do the MMO RPG crowd need to be so formal in video games?
The answer is why are you so formal in real life, you wont walk up to a person on the street and ask them to be your friend, this is the mentality WoW players have it maybe silly for a video game but in the game the friends you make is the diffrence between getting into a good guild or being left doing 5mans all day.

The bosses in WoW are not there too be played with, the bosses are to be studied most of my WoW life i spent 20min before a boss fight looking at videos like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSkUlEvZdww&feature=related to see how the boss worked, from my opinion this takes away from the Game aspect,

Now going back to the players of MMO RPGs being strict people
I am not sure if this happened to you but have you ever loged onto ventrilo and the MOTD was
Rule #1 not talking when the guild master is talking
#2 no channel hopping
#3 no joking
Well i did.

Another point i want to bring up, gamers challenge themselves to do DMC on devil hunter mode, or get a 20 people killing spree on COD? yes, and this is fun because later you can brag to our friends that you finished DMC on devil hunter or that you have a 20 person kiling spree on COD, what makes this fun is that in COD,DOTA etc any player can out play you even if you played the game for 2years or in DMC where the boss can just 3 shot you if you make one small mistake,

Well this is not true for MMO RPGs, Bosses get easier and easier as you get better gear, and for PvP the one with the better gear will most likely win,

Mostly MMO RPGs are fun. you may ask me why did i bash MMOs so much just to say they are fun, well....lets say i am playing WoW and i spent the last two years getting the best gear in the game then i see an ORC that just got to level 80, do you think i wont be able too 1 shot him?
that is why MMOs are fun, your not going into the unknown when you see a person you can just look at his gear and make up your mind weather you will kill him or get killed

Sorry if a successful guild doesn't want you wiping the whole raid because you couldn't take the time to know how the fights work. Don't waste everyones time. Vent rules are in place for a reason. Vent is there so the raid leader can organize the group and give directions, no one needs you talking when the raid leader is talking. These 2 things are just polite things to do.

And MMOs aren't real games be cause you can't go on a OMG 20 MOB KILLING SPREE? Get over yourself. And yhea, the gear inflation in WoW is retarded and the pvp is broken, but MMOs aren't less of a genre just because WoW isn't doing it right in that respect.

What's so special about being a "real" gamer or not being a "real" gamer?

Seriously a mmorpg should not be this demanding -in my opinion-,I mean the more you play it,you either learn and do all the things you need to so you can keep up (jobs like cooking,or armor crafting),or you end up struggling and it chokes all of the fun you had the time you first learned you can cast a fun spell or something.

These are very iritating, except maybe if your guild is into role-playing(real roleplaying,I don't think there are a 1000 people that do it in the 11 milion that play WoW right now)

Also another thing this is why MMO RPG players aren't real gamers:

This isn't actually my experience with MMORPGs. The only one I've actually properly played was DDO and City of Heroes (This for a few years)

Supergroups (Guilds) in CoH are extremely friendly. You spend a lot of time joking around, or running teams to complete a Task Force (Raid). Even the Task Forces were lighthearted, with the exception of a couple. There were only two Task Forces which required a particular strategy (which was pretty flexible and could be easily adapted) and it was almost common knowledge on how to defeat the boss, but new players were just given a five minute talk-through beforehand then you would just go for it, maybe crack a few jokes.

I did experience WoW once and I remember a high level helped me with a low level quest and gave me a nice bit of gold afterwards and added me to his friends list. However, my experience was apparently different to a lot of other people's.

If you want a lighthearted MMO go for City of Heroes, people are extremely friendly there.

EDIT: Also no competition for "t3h ph4t l3wtz"

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary disagrees with you and your silly definitions: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gamer

*puts on top hat and monocle*

I bite my thumb at you and those who think in the mirror opposite of your established definitions, good day to you, sir.

I should, I find WoW incredibly boring now......plus small server drama killed my guild.

There is no "real gamer", you play what you play. MMORPG's are games, people play them, they're gamers. You're in no position to announce the criteria of what makes someone a "real gamer", and doing so only shows that you're an elitest prick.

Just because they dont play the game the way YOU like it doesnt mean they are not gamers. Hell I'd say they are some of the most serious gamers. Not a lot of others that actually STUDY the game they play.

The (probably only) beauty about mmorpgs is that you can play it the way you like. This also entails you not being able to get into a certain crowd based on that. Which is 100% fair.

Who cares about killing sprees in CoD? You don't get the cool 'KILLING SPREE!' from Unreal, plus all CoD games sucked. Besides I used to play WoW and I could go 'I JUST HAD A 20 HORDE KILLING SPREE!' if I wanted to, but I didn't, as I'm not a hooting dick hole.

Taking a game seriously is alright, but there comes a point where it ruins everyone else's fun.

I've never understood why WoW players get so serious and pissed about some stuff. If you lose, you lost some time spent doing it, and what else?
EVE is the only other MMO that I know is different, although I am sure there are others. Star Wars Galaxies used to have equipment decay, but it's gone now.
If you stand to lose nothing in-game I really don't see a lot of reason to get all pissed over it. Although I can certainly understand guilds/corps/or whatever your game calls them wanting players with a good head on their shoulders. In an MMO the people you play with help shape your gaming experience, playing regularly with a good group usually means a good game.

Apparently, 18 other people were able to figure out what the hell the OP was talking about. Couldn't make sense of it, myself, but it seems my "troll topic" sense was right this time.

Eh, back to finding out who's been kidnapping Warshades in City of Heroes for me.
