The scene in which you play as a terrorist is skippable. If the Australian board is getting pissy about it, can't Infinity Ward just remove it from the game? It'd take no effort to do so.

Obviously if the game has already been shipped then they're fucked.

A lot of people need to learn how to read, this has been said about five or six times now:

[HEADING=1]MODERN WARFARE 2 IS NOT BANNED IN AUSTRALIA. THE OFLC HAS NO INTENTION OF RECONSIDERING THE MA15+ RATING. GO FORTH FELLOW AUSSIES AND BUY THE GAME AT YOUR LOCAL EB, JB HI-FI OR GAME STORES.[/HEADING]

What I actually want to know is why the civilians would run in front of the armed men rather than hide in the stores. Sure we wouldn't have such a "terrifying" sight but still.

I agree. I hate this fucking country. Fuck it. I hate edited versions of games. Get an R 18+ rating, then kids can't play the games,as it is illegal. If parents are stupid enough to still buy it, which the most likely won't, as an R 18+ sticker looks way worse than an MA 15+ sticker, they are fucking idiots and it is solely their fault.

My ass hurts.

I knew something like this would happen. But truth be told the developers don't really have anyone to blame but them self's.

Only a total idiot could create a level where you play a terrorist that guns down ordinary people and not expect his decision to create the level to be fallowed by a shitstorm.
hell, its innovative, and its better than giving us another Ranger level.

Not surprised, still makes me want to slap Australia, and makes me glad I don't live there.
I think Australia's government is the perfect example of the extremely of protective parent you know the one that yelled at you for pretending that a stick was a (sword gun spear or any other type of weapon). I thought the ESRB had rating games down to a science so why do they need to spend money of doing it again? (but who am i to say i don't live there)

I'm sorry to all of you that Live in Australia that wanted MW2. If there was a why to spend a shipment to you all secretly i would, just to spite the government.

Beach tax? Seriously?
He doesn't mean an actual beach tax. He means he is going through this ratings shit as beach tax.

(I think it's a Yahtzee thing, I'm not good at remembering who says quotes)
It is something he said, around the price of games selling for twice as much here as they do elsewhere. Personally I wanted to slap him for it. Someone in our government could of overheard and we really would have a beach tax after that happens. Everything else is taxed.

I kid you not, on top of income tax you have: sales tax, GST, state taxes, federal levies, luxury taxes, sin taxes... the list bloody well goes on. Hell, it was a fight just to stop them from putting even more taxes on 'woman hygiene products.' I kid you not, they wanted you to pay more taxes for being female... or bleed everywhere, your choice. I used to point out that on certain items, such as cigs, you half the money is going on taxes. No more though, no they RAISED the taxes so now more then three quarters of the prices is tax!

We need no more bloody taxes Yahtzee, stop giving them ideas!

PS: Four days, four more bloody days till I can kiss this country goodbye.

PSS: As for the way these games are decided... there is no scientific method, no one really knows how they come up with the ratings (here and in the US it seems). Dart board method?

FFS, wait what...."Australian council on CHILDREN"! This game is clearly not for kids, as are nearly all games made today. What's more; why is there no 18 rating in Australia, fine if they don't want one but they need something to classify things like MW2, like a great big red, 'Violence, swear words, adult themes; for adults" mark instead of an 18 sticker. *SNIP*
Next thing you know, they will let it into the country but only sell it in 'Adult Shops', and such games will become taboo too be seen purchasing and owning.
