Just to be certain, there aren't any respawning enemies in the campaign, are there? The main reason I really didn't like Call of Duty 4 was that unless you were constantly charging the enemy and employing run-and-gun tactics, they respawned, leaving pop-and-squatters like myself kind of fucked.
yes same here

i being a sniper i could just shoot and and give angry looks as the guy i just shot is now replaced by 2 more

they hung the bot grenade spam out though so it automatically gains 4935439087653094 points with me

The console version is good. Can't say the same about the PC version...

Ahh well, hopefully Bad Company 2 will be there to fill in the hole Modern Warfare 2 left.
Well both versions are the same, a different platform doesn't change the quality of the game.

Nope, not at all :) one of the many small Improvements they've made that add up to one huge difference.
Glorious. I might actually enjoy this, then.

Thanks for the information, good sir.
No problem :)

Just a quick heads up, the sniping online isn't going to be nearly as good as it was in CoD 4, as far as I can tell there's only one bolt action rifle ( the 'intervention', and the others are all semi-auto.

I did try to keep it as spoiler free as possible, so I apologise if anything managed to slip through :)

 it took like 5 minutes to figure out how to make that THATS HOW MAD I AM

dammit what the hell? the reason that i was disappointed with the barret 50 cal was because the bolt action i had access to was more accurate and basically the only thing the barret improved was in fire rate I DONT WANT FIRERATE I WANT DAMAGE ACCURACY AND RANGE

maybe im overreacting but i refused to use all semi auto snipers (except for barret) and now they are only having 1? dammit you IW damn you to hell

Very true, but the PC has different expectations and "standards," if you will, than the consoles do. That's certainly not to say either side is superior, it's just saying they have different needs.

Well actually, I suppose it depends how you look at it. If the game meets the expectations of the console but not the PC, then the PC version will probably be received less favorably, and vice versa.

That said, a good review but as someone else said it's a little to "praisey." Campaign sounds a little short for my taste (although maybe the epicness makes up for it). As for the multiplayer...Well, I'm undecided. I'll wait until I start seeing official reviews of the PC version and how IWNet is handled before I make a final decision on that.

I had planned on making it less 'praisey' but then, as I wrote it I realised the things I didn't like were actually things that made the game more balanced.

Holy shit I'm actually drooling.

Pavlov was right!
Really, wouldn't you need to be subjected to this more than once to have an conditioned response to it?,
Oh man, you are such a nerd. (But then, so am I.)

What, you think this is the first game review that's ever made me drool?

And its "a" conditioned response, captain semantics. The grammar nazi strikes again!

Nice review, really good.

I pre-ordered the Hardened Edition, I am dissapointed it's so short, but ah well.

Multi-player it is... ...until BF:BC2 comes out. Then I'm gone forever.

Thanks :) Yeah I was hoping it would be a little longer, maybe 6 or so hours, but I suppose special ops will keep me entertained for a while, and obviously i'll be playing online for a good year or so, so I can't complain too much :)

To be perfectly honest, Campaign doesn't, Online gameplay does. The online gameplay lives up to the hype very well.

Very good game i thought they had ruined it on pc but the only thing that is a problem is the 9v9 limit. some of the maps feel empty with only 18 players on them

Yeah, it's good. If you can hold your ground long enough, you can pretty much stroll from one battle to the next. The way it should be.

Any reason why you think that? Personally, I thought the campaign more than lived up to the hype, with my only real problem being that it was a little short.

Odd, playing online on the 360 with 18 players felt about perfect for me, but thats probably because im primarily a console gamer :)

That's why, It was very short. I didn't quite like that too much. After buying the Prestige Edition and not getting a good campaign. It was horrible.

FPS was on born on the PC, it remains better on the PC. so PC gamers have the right to say whether a feature or lack there of in a PC FPS is shit! because they know! if you were looking for someone's opinion on street fighter 4, you would go to the arcades, not a PC gamer for instance.

and I can tell you that using the hype of your new game as an excuse to remove or dumb down features and then CHARGE MORE for it than the first one IS SHIT!

In case you haven't realised yet, I'm primarily a PC gamer, and after reading this review, the game sounds as I expected - AWESOME! and I will buy it when it is given a decent price on steam (AU - its more on steam in US$ than it is IN A SHOP WITH A PROPER BOX in AUD$!). but I don't give two shits about the multi-player, I imagine if I was into the the MP of the first one I would be pissed off, and well with in reason to be so.

I remember the good old days, when the most popular fps was a mod. that put the developers in their place, that had the users dictating what features were needed in a game, not the developers.

I wish you PC gamers would take off your annoying elitist hats once in a while. NEITHER PLATFORM IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER, they are different, and just because they were 'born' on the PC doesn't mean that the PC gamers should have the right to have a giant ***** whenever a game doesn't cater to their every need. Just accept that some people like consoles better, and other people like PC better, neither is any better than the other.

Lovely. I'm still not buying it though.
Erm, thanks? I wasn't asking you if you were buying it, I was stating my opinion of the game, if you're gonna post meaningless sentences, kindly restrain yourself from clicking the 'post' button :)

Anyway, less bitching about the game, more constructtive criticism please :) hehe.
yes it would be lovely if u stopped bitching. if they wanna put "meaningless sentences" they have every right too. besides ur reading comprehension needs to improve before you reply about anyones post since he was giving u a compliment on ur thread and then responding to ur if u only buy one game this year let it be this one. anyways i got the game played and wish i didnt spend the money on it. about 5 hrs long for me the game had it moments but the entire thing reminded me of ODST.i wish i got the game for my xbox since then i could at least get rid of it now that i spent a graaaaand whole afternoon to pass it on it hardest difficulty. so to answer your thread does MW2 live up to all the hype. it is a no but it is a mediocure game if some1 reeeeeeeeeeally doesnt have anything better to buy.
