I think you could use a better snipper rifle, but if anything that makes you less "nooby" to use a crappy one like the M21.
The low stopping power of the M21 can force you to develop a habit of aiming for the head instead of center of mass like most people do. That makes me think of it as the least most hardcore of the sniper rifles. To each his own I guess.

That sounds fine to me. Why are you afraid of something that was put into the game being called noobish? Everything is legal when the developers decided to throw it in and most who say otherwise tend to just be the ones who are tired of getting killed by an effective weapon or tactic.
i just dont like being a douche, also i just wanted to see what other people thought of my class and also show a new way for people to play.

No, I actually think its fun to not try to get as many kills as possible and just sneak around back the enemy.

I very rarely play MW2, but in my rulebook, if the developers put it in then it is fair game. I learned that rule when people use to send me hate spam for using the Sword in Halo 2 or the Chainsaw in Gears of War 2.

i got the last laugh on one of the griefers, i sneaked up on him got prone and sent a reply on PSN saying "turn around", when he turned around i put a knife in his face. he replied saying "you cock", i replied saying "you retard, you shouldve seen me coming", and he got really defensive and eventually backed off in shear embarassment
While i do not question the legitamacy of this style of play (sneaking around like that must provide a good rush, i can relate to that), i don't see how you are any different then "the griefers". In my view you are the one who's griefing, these people would rather play a straight up game and you break their flow (that's ok though, everyone has fun their own way, just i can understand why those peeps would be annoyed by this), then taunt them like that (now there you cross the line into douchebaggery)?

That guy wasn't very eloquent or sportsmanlike, but I really wouldn't say you had the moral highground after acting in such a way.
I'm really glad i don't play Cod online, everyone involved seems rotten.

Edit: Not impressed by people high fiving you over this either. It's times like this i really do feel a big divide between the overall escapist population and myself.

Cookie for refrence. I hate those sprinting bitches. Once I accidently CQC sniped a guy. Was going for an M4, picked up a W2000, turned and shot for the game winning kill. I actually apologized to the guy. Close range sniping should be impossible (must be ADS to shoot or something), and I wish they would fix the "ZOMG iM Qu1cK SCop3z PROOOO!!!" bullshit. I just renders other weapons, mainly the SMGs, Pistols, and real shotguns, useless, because 10-30m is their best range.
Really? Out of all the things you want fixed, its quickscoping? I actually told myself, if they take out quickscoping, I am officially done with this game. It hardly ever comes as a greivance to anyone, and if you lose to a sniper, then you deserve to be dead. Call of Duty sniping is one of the strongest points of that game.

im sure you all know the usual grief worthy tactics; camping, knife running, propipe with one many army

My tactic involves a silenced M21 (which i use solely for the ghillie suit and a few mid-long shots), a silenced raffica. tactical insertion (purely because i hate the default spawns, they always leave you vulernable or put you right next to the enemy), scavanger pro, coldblooded pro and ninja pro.

i like to hunt on wastleland and overgrown by crawling through tall grass and getting into a bush for a few kills then crawling along. i can get behind the enemy unseen and rack up the kills with my raffica once they are flanked, it also works fairly well on derail, salvage and surprisingly storm

what is you opinion do you think this is an unfair tactic, ive been greifed a few times but i think its a fair tactic because if im spotted then im dead
this is basically the same tactic as I use, but with the m9 so I don't think it's "NOOB", it's just a clever way of playing
Do you get better results with M9, i might give it a try. i used to use it but i feel the raffica has a bit more power to it. obviosly without scavanger the singleshot fire may be better on your ammo consumption but i feel the power of the raffica is so much better.

i might try using it with M9 or possibly the USP
Another advantage to this is that (I think) the M9 has a shorter barrel, for the same reason you tell people to change to a secondary weapon in a bush.

There's nothing wrong with that, people seem to think that the second you go prone, look out of a window, or look down a scope that you're automatically a noob/camper. That's just not true. What you described is what sniping is more like in real life, not camping slash being a noob. being a noob is going prone in a bush and not moving the whole game.

That tactic is more than legit, its the way the game is meant to be played. The whole frontal assault rifle tactic thing should be considered nooby because that's what the REAL noobs do. I takes skill to be patient and sneaky... I myself use a similar tactic because I sneak around with the m21 silenced and thermal. When I get to a populated area I pop a smoke and pick them off! I've gotten 9 kill streaks just from that alone, not counting the kills I got before and after that moment.

nice addition with the thermal although thermal makes my eyes go funny so i dont use it, i dont know why because ive got 20/20 vision but the thermal scopes really fuck me up

its so satisfying once you get behind the enemy team, you can do what you want its one of the best feelings knowing you got your kills through intelligence rather than just spraying

All is fair in love and war.

If someone complains ignore them, it's what I do, then again not many people complain about me, I just run around with a SAW, or go prone with it..I'm Heavy Weapons Guy

what is you opinion do you think this is an unfair tactic, ive been greifed a few times but i think its a fair tactic because if im spotted then im dead

EDIT: heres a few tips for anyone planning on using this;

- try it out on 3rd person first just so you can see the shade of the ghillie on each map. a few times i was caught out but my ghillie being a different shade of green to the bush i was in
- watch killcams, sometimes you can learn from your mistakes and its easy to spot where your camo has gone wrong on the killcam
- if you have to get out of prone when in a fairly large bush (due to visibilty or prone block) then switch to your side arm, the big long shiny thing protruding is quite an obvious sign someone is in that bush
- hold fire, sometimes its better to wait until someone is out of sight until you make youre move
- watch out for prone block, that can really ruin your day if you find a really good spot that is spoiled by prone block
- be patient, youll see everyone sprint off at the start which is ok until you get with in sight of the enemy

Hey you stole my setup except you take tactical insertion instead of claymore. Although it would seem that i use my sniper more often then you but its pretty much the same idea. I also only play on hardcore so i dont have to worry about them finding my position with kill cams.
definatly considering hardcore, then i can use my sniper alot more. tactical insertions help alot, i used to be a hater but thats only because people sit ontop of them but if placed well you can flank the enemy and or ensure a safe spawn

I don't think its noob in any way in fact I use a similar set up when I snipe though there are vairations:

1. I use the WA2000(or wazoo as I fondly call it) with either an ACOG or FMJ (more or less dependent on map)
2. I have Claymores for reason of covering my tender behind (though like my knife I usually don't remember or don't bother)
3. I have (preferably) TMP or PP2000 or Raffica and with the Raffica I use Last stand while the others I use either Ninja or Steady Aim Pro

Of course I'm playing FFA, the only game mode I'll play on MW2 (and the only one worth playing IMHO), so I'll usually end up getting out my sidearm anyway. I find that it works on Underpass, Subpens, Wasteland, Estate, or (God help me) Overgrown, though the last three give me some trouble. I also tend to set up when I snipe choosing about three areas to snipe in and switching where I go.

I really don't consider anything outright unfair except for Nuke Boosting and then only because it interrupts my and other peoples' games and also because I don't like it when people treat my like a complete idiot. I'm only mostly and idiot. I do have a few I'm tired of seeing like the UMP/Scavenger/StoppingPower/Commando/Rape or the ever annoying quick-scope finger of God or the classic ACR (Always Camping Rifle) SP/Commando/Corner. But, tired though I am, I still admit they are perfectly legitimate and (most importantly) it is not my, nor anyone else, job to tell you how you can/not play your game.

I have found a strange anomaly though where I've been called a N003 for "Spraying" though I really don't know why it is so. It's mostly when I have LMG's and I really don't see why since:
1. Its mostly due to the fact that when using the Iron sights (particularly with FMJ) the flash seems to hide the enemy.
2. Guns like the L86 jump a fair bit, throwing off aim and I usually try to press down when it climbs.
3. I guess it never occurs to people that I'm not always trying to kill them, simply discourage them.

Anyway, the long and short of it is that you aren't using a noob tactic and you shouldn't get angry b/c he that angers you, conquers you.

From what you say, you did exactly what you wewe supposed to do. You killed without being killed. If that's a noob tactic in the eyes of your opponents, maybe they believed that they were on a JRPG or other game where you flash your arse at the enemy and then spend five minutes taking it in turns punching each other until someone dies of chronic boredom? Or maybe they are the noobs and need to learn to lose gracefully before joining the big boy table. Sorry for the rant. This kind of thing happens to me ALL THE DAMN TIME and it pisses me off.
