Modern Warfare 2 on XBL is starting to suck

Despite all of the faults and problems that constanlly come up I still manage to have a load of fun on the game. One thing that helps me is that I play with my close XBOX LIVE and close real life friends or my trusted clan. But the other thing is I usually play in private match's and we make up our own game modes and have fun like knife battles, riot shields only or sniper wars.

OT: Just the other day we made up a game mode called "Wolf Hunt"

(Name.... NOT MY IDEA! I'm anti-wolf killing! I love wolves and so do my friends the name just kinda stuck)

Where one guy is the "wolf" and can only use knifes. While everyone else "the hunters" uses shotguns. 1 life per round and "the hunter" who kills the "wolf" is the "new wolf" for the next match.

Just an example on how with the right people you can still have loads of fun and forget all the problems that everyone else seems to have with the MW2 online population.

I like SOCOM:Confrontation and other games where you can hear the other team because the singers/music players are always first to die... ...usually on the recieving end of my knife.

In the right lobby it can be fun. I haven't played it in awhile though, so the standard 150% increase in quality due to nostalgia may be in effect.

Now that they've fixed most of the glitches, I've started playing MW2 again but I don't plug my mic in unless I'm playing with people I know. Once someone found out I was black on XBL and I heard the most offensive racial slurs that I had seen outside of [website removed].

Even on PC you run across loud idiots all the time. I realize Xbox live is sort of a gathering place for them, but still.

In my opinion, you should only be allowed to have a mic if you will not abuse the power and actually try to help your team.

The hard to miss glitches have been fixed, such as the Care Package and Javelin glitches, but the game is so poorly made and easily exploitable it's quite depressing for people that want to play it properly.

It seems to cater towards the morons and bitches in the game, M203 not annoying enough? OK let's add the Thumper, RPG and AT4, plus the Scavenger perk, oh and Akimbo to piss even more people off.

Seriously, I love playing it but most of this shit occurs on an extremely regular basis, if it wasn't for my mates playing it too, I don't think I'd still have the game.

Firstly: I have an on/off relationship with X-Box Live. Sometimes I get good games sometimes bad (this is when I play with my friend that is since I don't have X-Box Live myself). And for the people I just find that the easiest solution is muting the people that bug me.

Secondly: I think quite a few of the glitches have been fixed so thats a plus but really it is true that some parts of MW2 are annoying. This is (for me) Akimbo shotguns since they always bugged me.

There still very powerful though.

Knifers are my personal grievance, I can understand why they can kill you in one hit but moving like your in the Matrix then lunging 6FT, while being unaffected by bullets is very annoying.

i also do not like the other users on xbox live. for every good gaming partner i find, there are at least twenty squeaky voiced chattering infants who treat the game lobby as their own private masturbation session. i can live with the other stuff, because that is fixable by the developer, but i wish that xbox live users would grow up. i want to play some modern warfare and i dont want somebody singing in my ear.

i also dont like those who take advantage of glitches like the javelin glitch, the care package sprint, and the plethora of other things out there.

am i being overly critical?

edit: i think that they should not include a mike with every xbox 360

No you're absolutely fucking not overly critical. You bought a game, that was way overpriced, and expected to get quality. You got shit my friend. The PC version is also shit. If I were you, I'd burn the game and crap on the ashes. And return to CoD4

I've played mw2 online on both consoles and I rarely have any problems as long as I just mute everybody. However, the ps3 version I played had some serious lag problems, so I have to say I prefer it on the 360.

At some stage I just accepted that people are morons and nothing I say or do can change that, so I'm better off to just not get worked up over it.

I quit MW2 a month back because it was making me rage, but that was more on a technical standpoint.

I may go back and give it another try when the map packs arrive but I'll never again get really into online gaming, it's just too much rage.

I never use microphones for this same reason. That, and people would go over-the-top over the slightest thing to do with my voice. Which explains my high "prefer not to play with" due to language (I do swear, which considering it's games like Modern Warfare, I don't think should be a problem, but apparently it is).
