If you like balanced multiplayer or a decent campaign, do not get it. If you love being spawn-killed, having an incredibly short campaign plus about 23 mini-games, lots of latency in multiplayer, etc., do get it.
Im not bad at fps' I can take being spawn killed a few times and can own the back just as hard ;)

As in, you WILL spawn in someone's sights, you WILL spawn with a missile headed toward your position, and you WILL get killed after you get to cover because the latency means you're not actually in cover on their screen. This will happen A LOT.

I'd buy something else. I spent full price on the game upon release, and have regretted it since. Spend that money on something else and wait for the game to drop in price, as it is nowhere near worth 30 quid.

I actually haven't had huge latency issues...

It's a well-made multi player frag-fest, and the single-player campaign and split-screen co-op challenges are great fun as well. I can't promise anything--not everyone's going to like an FPS's particular version of "realism."

I'd really recommend giving it a try, at least. It's quality actually kind of surprised me, since I'm not that big on shooters.

Ok, basically I have got some cash to burn and after looking at some youtube vids, it seems mw2 looks quite good (Well I already knew that, but you get ma drift) Basically it is £30 on amazon at the moment (which is $45) and I am stumped to whether or not I should get it. I will either get it on PC or PS3 (Because my 360 died on me :( ) so what I am asking is:

Is it worth £30?
Should I get it for PC or Ps3?

EDIT: I am a fan of being able to solo kill anything like a one man shooting machine :D
Well, if you like a Coherent story and writing that was'nt over blown in how good it was, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 isnt for you. If your one of those people who just like to kill things with no imagination or caring for why the hell your shooting the things in the first place, or a fan of multiplayer (AKA the same type of person except you like to shoot shit with others), than get it, especially at 30 EU.

i think you should get it :) the story line is quite intense, but i did find it quite confusing, and after finishing it played online, which never gets boring once your into the way of things :) i would recommended getting it on PS3, but purely because i prefer console gaming to pc gaming because of the control schemes.

It's worth mentioning that I'm pretty sure the story is ironic...as in, it's supposed to be that stupid. I found it hilarious, myself.

I just got a free trial on XBL and it's worth the £30 just for the online play. Spec-Ops are great fun too and the campaign is also really good.

Nooooo...that only would have been funny if they marketed the game as such. But they did'nt. They made it out to be something completely straight faced and quote unqoute "realistic." As such, the story must be looked at as such. I don't know about you, but I don't find Russia invading the US because of some martyred arm's dealer that no one ever heard (or at least was never mentioned being known to the general populace) of dying and being pissed. I see that as shody writing, that's neither serious or humourus, and just illustrates how much pot the writers were smoking when making the writing for Modern Warfare 2, despite doing a rather excellent job in in the first one.

It comes down to "Do you like controllers or K&M?" If the dedicated servers were back however...

Yep.

The campaign is mad, over the top, action packed, silly and great fun.

The multiplayer is mostly great as long as you can play for fun, remain zen and not get mad at the numerous little annoyances and balancing issues.

I didn't like the multiplayer as much as Battlefields, though the Co-op in MW2 is fantastic. I'm a co-op whore and it's a lot of fun with a friend.

It's a nice amusement, but it's not very replayable and the multiplayer is your average Fleh Game-with-cheaters-racists-spammers-and-Uber-Weapon-Combos-That-ALWAYS-FETHING-WIN

They marketed the GAMEPLAY as realistic ('cause it totally is, right?). I don't think anyone ever suggested the campaign's story--which is kind an afterthought--was realistic.
