The big problem comes with guys who are in party chat on opposite teams, who go off to meet in a corner to get nukes.
I remember once match where I found their 'meeting place', and kept crashing the party. It was hilarious. My 'teammate' kept trying to block my way so I couldn't kill the other guy, but I always did. I didn't get a great score that round, but the other team didn't get a cheap nuke so I was ok with it.
This is called boosting and is the the most underhanded way to win a game in mw2.
You see it a lot in free for all and every time I do I hunt them down and chuck a frag in there little hideyhole. BOOM! double kill

I've played MW2 for weeks and never even seen a Tactical Nuke... Probably because I only do team deathmatch.

At first I thought it was pretty cool, and tried to get it.
But now I've realised it's just not that fun.
(Nowhere near as fun as launching a TRIPLE air-strike)

I don't mind them tbh, I've nuked a couple of times just because I wanted to get it. I then found going for the nuke annoying as it made me play too cautiously.

Well, in 3rd person domination, I was winning, and someone somehow got a tactical nuke. I checked the enemy rosters and, sure enough, no one was above 25 in kill count. In fact, they all had around 8 kills or less. I'm guessing they must have gotten really lucky with their supply drops. But I use the supply drop for the glitch.

You know what? A nuke would be better used as a 30 (or other number) deathstreak reward to force a draw.
Too easy to achieve. You could just win by killing yourself 30 times. People would use it to ruin games.
Fine. 50 deaths then, and you need to be at least x points behind the enemy (changes depending on the game made).

Hell, I don't care. I don't even own the bloody game. I was just pointing out that nuking yourself and calling it a 'win' is illogical.

Well it does take 25 kills in a row to get so its still a chalige, but i do agree its kinda a game/fun killer

Alright, sorry.

Why do I think the game is ruined? Well....

For starters, the spawn system is horrible. I've been put in front of enemies countless times, not to mention the number of times they've spawned behind me. I know some of them were just tactical insertions, but for the most part, it was the game being incompetent. I was playing a match once where the score was 7300-7400. I killed a guy who the proceeded to spawn directly behind me, and knife me. Yes, there was no tactical insertion.

The maps also really bother me. A lot of times, when someone is taking cover behind a wall, I can only see the very tip of their head. And yet they can still see me perfectly. This was present in COD4 and WaW as well, but it appears a lot more in MW2.

Killstreaks are also a pain. I know they're balanced, and it isn't hard to shoot them down when you have a good team, but that's just it: I rarely have a team who shoots down air support. When I hear that NPC voice yelling that an enemy chopper gunner is inbound, a feeling of dread grows within me, knowing that I will be the only person to shoot it down. And while I'm trying to shoot it down, it's sitting there spraying in every possible direction, killing me in the process.

Then there are all the glitches this game has. I can understand issues with the maps' geometry, that's bound to happen, but things like the infinite care package glitch, the bling'd 1887s, the javelin glitch, all of those are extremely game breaking to me. I joined 3 games yesterday, and in all of them, someone was doing the infinite care package glitch. The amount of air support was ridiculous. I would shoot down a Cobra just to have it replaced by a Pave Low and a Harrier.

My last issue, aside from the lag, is balance in general. Games tend to be very one-sided, with some games ending 2700-10000, or 41-200. On top of that, you have things like the models and the tactical knife. The models have way more range than they should, making it extremely hard to kill people using them. My issue with the tactical knife is that you pretty much always lose knife fights, even when it seems that you knife first on your screen. I wouldn't mind this if people didn't run around using it exclusively.

So, yeah, that's why I think that.
Well, I'll agree with you on the spawn system, though I think you are exaggerating a little bit on how badly this affects gameplay. I also agree with your point about the character models, but that's present in most FPS' these days and I think it's more a programming thing, but I could be wrong. I also think that you're right about people not shooting down killstreak rewards.

However the glitch stuff has largely been fixed. The 1887's were fixed, so now I personally think that the SPAS-12 is a better option. The Javelin glitch was fixed, and I "think" they fixed the infinite care package one. More info here http://www.infinityward.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=32&sid=ab35a07a27204d6cd5a86dad64e21353 .

About the knife thing, tac knives increase melee speed, so knifing first is not guarantee of winning, since it is considerably faster, they have a much larger window knife and still win. Additionally, if you don't have commando, and they do, there is a distinct possibility you were out of range when you knifed, but at the same time, they WERE in range, thus they win. And this tactic is not nearly as effective as they seem, people just always focus on when they get stabbed, but disregard how often they kill the stabber before he even got close to knifing range. It's just relative.

All that said, you are entitled to your opinion and I do respect that, but I do think you should respect people who DO like it, and at least not make negative comments (referring to your first post, and to other people w/ negative comments in general)

OT: Nukes are hard to get and quite preventable. Its my thought that if you get nuked, you deserve it. And I've been nuked way more than I've nuked people. 3 nukes to around 10 times getting nuked.

Alot of the time I enjoy them. I'll be laughing having a good time in a party full of friends and suddenly we'll here the infamous alarm and we all start screaming "AAAAH!" and "OH SHIT!" and what not. Sometimes we have group suicides or we run into a building to hide in the same spot. It's pretty epic seeing everyone running in slow motion before they all die.

But it is pretty dumb that people boost to get them.

I think that if a game is so in favour to one player, then it's probably better if there's a match change. My max kill streak is 10, and I don't think I'll ever get the required 25.

It's fine because you have so many chances to stop it so do it! It's not too hard. Use stingers, search for him, stay inside during chopper it's just so simple I don't understand why you would complain.
Remember now, he's not the only one on his team.
It would be easier with team-mates! A small squad or just one or two people have quite a good chance of taking down that one guy.

In team deathmatch ect. where killing is what earns the team points, i belive it is fair.. they did earn it, personally i just wouldnt bother using it. Before you ask yes i can easily hit a 25 killstreak..

In demolition? (i belive its that one with the 3 A,B,C flags) where people are only botherd about the nuke to win? with no effort to gain teampoints? It should be banned from those modes.. simple

I actually don't mind it though.. if people use it, i die once, loose a match and really dont care as long as my k/d is over 1.50. I'd rarther just use a killstreak thats easier to accuire, fun to use an gets me on the way to a chopper gunner..

I have only seen two go off ever and i play quite a bit of mw2.So if your team lets someone get 25 kills as its a lot harder to string kill streaks than cod4 dont ask me why, your team deserve to lose the game.

It only annoys me in Free-For-All when one guy is camping and he keeps killing everyone else and gets the nuke. Not a huge deal since I prefer Team Deathmatch anyway; it rarely happens in that game mode. I've seen it less than ten times in hundreds of matches.

The only people who ever get it are just powercamping/boosting so yeah it does ruin the game in that respect.

I gotta say, I agree with you there. It's made me scream audibly. I never scream audibly. People walking by my room must think I'm insane. "THIS IS NOT A FUCKING SHOOTING GALLERY!", I've been known to yell.

Truth. Also doubly annoying is every other Free-For-All game ending with a nuke because of fucking boosters, who are millions of times worse than akimbo shotgunners and kniferunners combined. (In case you don't know, boosting is when people in a party join a Free-For-All game and cooperate to give one person the nuke.) If they made a Mercenary Free-For-All gametype (i.e. no parties), I'd be cool with the nuke again.

Have you even been playing Mw2?
Random people are never cooperative and barely have mics, even if they do they will most likely ignore you, and brand you as n arm chair General.
Hmm I could of sworn I have. If you have no friends than you are SOL. Not enough people have a class using stingers so you may have to take it upon yourself to use it and take out the ariel vehicles, which earns you a nice bunch of points. I myself haven't been nuked recently, just play TDM it is much harder to get a nuke there but it's still plausible.
