I finished the campaign in Veteran, and while I wouldn't say it was super hard, it wasn't a cake walk either. Had a few rough spots, but nothing I struggled with. The Spec Ops missions on Co-Op aren't too bad either, but hectic fun.
I'm starting it on Vet soon and I'm wondering what tactic you used for defending the lodge from the siege of enemies trying to shoot up the hard drive thingy?

That was the only mission bit I found tough on normal, it seemed like a very sudden difficulty spike.
I had no problem till I got out of the house just clamour every entrance twice, get a gun with thermal scope and snipe and have a light machine gun as secondary so can spray if they get in.
and was I the only person obscenities at the tv during the whole Shepard thing at the end of that mission.

It took me 2 hours a day for 3 days before I finally cracked that damn level.

Never shot the hostage but expect to run out of time with the final set of doors in sight!! So near yet so far...

Then go do something else, anything else and let the rage subside...

There's a table by the computers back in a corner by a couch that gives you good cover, and if you grab an LMG you should be set. Every once in a while the game clusterfucks you, 50 flashbangs and a million guys, but that's what the LMG is for anyways. Don't even bother setting up claymores, just takes time.

yeah im currently on the "contingency" mission, at the part where i have 2min to get to the sub. kind of having a bit of trouble with that, i know i have to launch my predator missiles (i think i can only get like 3-4 off before time runs out.

but other then this at the moment veteran isn't too too bad, once i got past the riviera(or something) level aka the new tv station level i wasn't dieing that much at all

Thats funny, because I found MW1 heaps easier on Veteran than MW2.

Maybe I was just more awesome back then.

Worst part for me is that I always seemd to run into scenarios where every enemy in the section was armed with either auto shotguns or P90's

TO HELL WITH THE P90!!!
My god, I met a guy online using akimbo P90s... I swear to god I wanted him to explode.
I'm only starting out so I haven't unlocked a lot. Felt good to out-whore a guy with my 'nade launcher and steal the blinged akimbo P90's from his corpse.

[HEADING=1]DO NOT SPEAK OF THAT LEVEL.[/HEADING]

*curls up and weeps*

The only achievement that I don't have for COD4 is to beat that goddamn level on Veteran.
Just look up a youtube video on how to do it, it only took me like 15-20 minutes to get.
Same with me. Frustrating at first but once you get a rhythm it's not too bad. I have yet to start MW2 on veteran... we shall see.
