I wouldn't pay for a copy of this game even if they did enable dedicated servers... and that would be serious for them to do considering their investment in IWnet.

This game has been so hacked to shit and torn apart that no matter what they do everyone will know to stay away from MW2 who hasn't already made the mistake of buying it. Doesn't really affect the console crowd so much- but don't worry- they want our money too and after this failure they'll respect us more to get it next time.

Personally, I'd like to see IW go under to really teach dev houses a lesson. Not gonna happen. Not overnight. They may lose good people internally over this and maybe somewhere down the line their product will be so shitty even the indiscriminate consolers won't go for it. I can dream.

this just sounds to me like the PC gamers started whining and moaning until they got what they wanted, either that or the "no servers" thing was used to stir controversy and boost consol sales and then they do this too improve the PC sales...

I'm a bit confused by this, the hack consist of one .exe and one .dll
VAC bans everyone who has programs that interrupt with the games .exe or .dll.
Or did things just mess up in my mind as they usually do?

I never planned on buying this inferrior game anyhow... But this is pleasant to hear. Normally I don't support hacking/pirating, but in this case, I will make an exception. I'm sick of the PC getting screwed over, and it's nice to see this game taking a hit.

It's too bad that the folks at IWnet will catch on eventually and figure out a way to ban all modded/hacked games at some point.

Exactly, so is pirating something hypocritical when boycotting can mean not giving money to a developer? I don't know many pirates that pay the people they are pirating off.

...you do realize that any proper community will simply ban hackers on sight? That's one of the main reasons people like dedicated servers, since they allow players to police themselves instead of praying to whatever "official moderators" to do it for them.

Punish them by doing what? Banning them from IWNET? It's like punishing someone from fleeing your country by cancelling their library card. People playing on dedicated servers won't need IWNET anymore, so what do they care?
