Molyneux Reveals Why Fable 3 Will Piss Players Off

I don't listen to anything this man says anymore. Everytime he talks about a new Fable game it sounds like this to me...

"Fable X will be the greatest game ever to hit shelves when it's released. And when you finally get to play it, you will realize that all other games you have played up to that point are shit. That your life, which you once thought full and rich, is actually empty. It will make you look back on everything you have done until then with despair. Admittedly, I do wish real life could be like Fable 2's. If I cheat on my wife and she finds out, I could just play the guitar or fart for her and she'll love me again.

Peter Molynuuuh is the biggest idiot I can think of in games today outside of Rob "The Knob" Dyer. This is the first good news to come from LionHead since "PRoject Ego" was first showcased. Since then, everything Peter Molyneeewww touched has turned to RPG/Xbox fanboy crap.

What's really sad is I am both an RPG AND Xbox fanboy and I cannot stand this crap.

There are other new features that Molyneux revealed, such as weapons that will change both a character and themselves depending on how they are used. Using a certain kind of sword might make your character thin and tall, while killing a certain kind of monster will cause the weapon itself to become spiky.

So a long katana might make you scary and silver haired, while a massively oversized and heavy sword -- a "buster", if you will -- might make you brooding with spiky yellow hair?

I can think of some people who'd be down with that...

OP: I'm still looking forward to Fable 3; more and more with each and every day it's closer to release, as a matter of fact!

I love all the Fable games, and I'm eating up every little tidbit of info (true or false as they may be) that I can get my fanboy-teeth into!

But seriously; no HUD? What about mana, hmm? How is one to keep track of that? And having a weapon that can be molded from Play-Doh based on how it's used? What if I want to use it for tax returns; does it turn into a goldfish?

I know it seems like I am "pissed off," but I'm more pissed off about why these changes to a game should even matter. And being able to abuse children? Who wants that?! (Yes, I know Yahtzee pointed that out in his review.)

I agree with this. Fable has always attempted to give you a unique experiance crafted from your desicions, but never have I heard that attacking a certain race might alter your sword.

Also, I'll keep a weapon around long enough until a better one comes out. Then: Fuck it. What if I keep alternating between a swrod that makes me taller and a sword that makes me shorter? In what case would that happen in real life? Seriously

Well it's kinda taking things with a grain of salt right? Obviously I don't mean real life in terms of outside the game, but Fable just showed off your character and gave the evil personification.

Being evil making you look ugly and growing horns, I can understand. Being good and having a halo, I can understand. Using alot of will and having will lines grow along your body, I can understand. Using a gun and growing taller was interesting (most archers/gunners back then tended to be tall and skinny).

eating pies and gaining weight is cool. Eating vegetables and gettign thin as well. but having your sword morph or make you grow depending on WHICH sword you use is just... Well it's taking it too far. Again, I only use a sword until a stronger one comes around, and you face different enemies depending on the quest.

So the sword would be constantly shifting and I would be constantly starting anew each time I said "Ooh, this shiney is stronger than the last!"
