Discovering that DA:O doesn't autosave after boss fights by getting killed about an hour after finally beating the freaking boss. ><
That CoD4 mission with the Americans where you're manning the helicopter machine guns? On Veteran, there were always these guys who could shoot me before they were anywhere close to my line of sight. Cheating bastards. I must have restarted that mission more than twenty times before I finally got through that damn bit.
Any Sierra game where you realised you left something behind more than an hour ago that you need to win the game, and there's no way of going back and getting it beyond loading an old save or restarting. Sierra hates you.
That 'defend the base for 30mins' mission in StarCraft. I don't know how many times the Zerg destroyed that base of mine. Once I beat that level, I went back and enabled cheats just so I could get the satisfaction of wiping every last Zerg off the map. Ah, revenge! Mwahahahaha!
