OT - The End of Gladiator. Every damn time.

Lucilla: Is Rome worth one good man's life? We believed it once. Make us believe it again. He was a soldier of Rome. Honor him.
Gracchus: Who will help me carry him?

Aw, damn you! Not cool man, I'm crying at work! That's a damn good movie.

Pixar at the moment seem to subsist on the heart broken tears of their audience, and so I give you the first few minutes of Up.

The last episode of dollhouse, season 2... After watching the entirety of the season, I'm pretty sure I went into a deep dark depressed state seeing how things turned out x_x Most bittersweet ending ever.

I can't believe we've come this far in the thread without anyone mentioning Clannad. Specifically Clannad after story, episode 18. You people know what I'm talking about.

You... how can you keep doing this to me!?

I've gone and got all watery eyed now. Thanks!

OT: My favourite film Let The Right One In had a load of scenes which still make me watery eyed. Youtube unfortunately doesn't have them.

There are still many anime's which make me watery eyed like Clannad though and many films like The Assassination of Jesse James which get me going nuts.

I never cry properly (as in sobbing, full tears) but there are a few moments when my eyes get all watered up.

I can't always name specific moments, but there were a few in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Angel Beats and UP.

At the end, when the 2 Tachikoma save Batou and sacrifice themselves by kamikazing the Armed Suit.

That damn oily tear Batou's personal Tachikoma sheds always gets to me.
This, and the similar moment in the second season for sure.

What? Two pages and no Katawa Shoujo?

OT: ^Katawa shoujo. I think it was Hanako's route. :,(
It's not a TV show or a movie, that'd be why, although if the topic included games, I'd agree with you.

I never really had any emotional reaction to 2nd Gig's ending.
Possible because SAC had a physical sacrifice, while 2nd Gig had more of a metaphysical sacrifice.

Also, I haven't seen all of Brotherhood, so I don't know how the well the scene was done...
In the final battle with father, after Edward's automail arm was smashed and his other was impaled on rebar. When Alphonse used alkahestry to transmute his soul and return Ed's arm to him.

Friggin' 50/50. It's (supposed to be) a comedy about a guy's fight with cancer. That scene where they wheel him away on the stretcher for his operation got to me.

I found the second one had less impact for sure, I think it was the song that made it sad if anything.

As for FMA, yes that scene was one of the ones I was thinking of when I wrote it, I'd say it was done pretty well.

Man this scene. Yeh...
Good, good choice. I didn't watch The Last Airbender until a couple years ago, and when I watched that episode, I got a whole lot more respect for it.

The ending of Air the 1000th Summer, no scratch that, THE ENTIRE FUCKING SHOW
There is no one alive that I know that was able to watch the entire series without crying at the ending, seriously, its so fucking sad.
Whenever I get around to watching Air, I am going to sincerely enjoy not being the least bit weepy.

On a related note...

Since we're sticking to TV shows I'll add Elfen Lied.
Oh wow, someone DID post this! That makes me glad. Although I've never understand the hate for the show. Yes, it did favour the violence and nudity a bit much. And the characters were annoying sometimes. And there were slow parts. But it was still entertaining and very engrossing. Every new person I introduced it too insisted on sitting and watching the entire thing, simply cause they couldn't stop. That music... and the emotional connection that develops once you understand Kuta and Lucy's past makes their parting at the very end so tragic. And of course the director and his daughter. I'm too manly to shed tears, but I was fucking bawling like a girl inside.
This post makes me glad, because I didn't know there were other people who hated the show. Thank goodness. I all but slept through it. Maybe I'll try again...but I doubt it.

As for me, well...I was watching Pokemon Movie 8,927,878,785: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew (SPOILERS: It's not very good), but in the ending scene, I was actually almost tearing up. Aaron...Lucario...*sniff*

I'm pretty amazed; it appears no one mentioned this:

Many Ultra-masculine tears of manliness were shed.

Alright then, another anime one would be episode 8 from Gurren Lagann... dammit.

Oh thank god, the end of Schindler's list hasn't been claimed by the ninjas yet. But man, is it a sad one.

I feel like I am the only Escapist who has ever watched this show, but Friday Night Lights has had me close to tears the most of anything I have ever watched. Tears of joy and regular tears. More people should really watch this this show. Anywho, there is this one episode where one of the characters loses a parent and the whole episode is just the most heart-wrenching thing I have ever seen.

The Episode is called The Son and I could not find the clip on youtube, but specifically the dinner scene tore me apart.

I don't watch a lot of TV or Movies so I'm gonna cheat and go with music. I heard these songs during a very difficult time in my life and they hit me very hard.

Season 1 of Heroes. Episode: Company Man. I lose it every single time I watch it. As for movies, end of Beauty and the Beast. When Thomas J dies in My Girl.
