Monty Python is known as one of the best groups of comedians EVER. They made a number of movies, all of wich achieved cult-status(lots of people loving them) and all of them touching a number of controversial points. I love 'em, but wondered how many escapees know about them and what they think of these brilliant gentlemen.

If you never say their movies, or don't know who they are, here's the wikipage:
[link]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Python[/link]
And you also qualify as a so called 'Empty-headed animal food trough wiper'

In case the poll didn't show up:
Option 1: They're awesome.
Option 2: They're good.
Option 3: Meh, They're not bad.
Option 4: Not my kind of thing.
Option 5: It's crap.
Option 6: What's Monty Python?
Option 7: Know them, but never watched their movies
Option 8: Isn't that a type of snake?

Have a taste of their humor, you silly bastards

Edit: nope, the poll indeed did not show. I picked 1, obviously

Option 1, at least four hundred and twelve times over.

That being said, I know one person who doesn't like them.....we treat her with incredulity.

The Black Knight will stick with me for all time.

Option 1.

The were very good, but they made some real shit to, like The Meaning of Life.

Graham Chapman was always my favourite.

Monty Python is one of the best things ever! I've watched all their movies and always look them up on youtube. Flying Circus is amazing!

They are the most amazing Comedians I have ever seen. Option One for me.
When me and my friends are hanging out you get a lot of Monty Python references, and a lot of moments that could be found in a Monty Python film.

Albeit a very violent one at times, for example:
Sitting in Geography Class. Best Friend has disappeared for Four Days, no one knows where he is, when suddenly he bursts into class with a hiking rucksack on his back, a Dead Arctic Fox in one hand an a Bullet Belt for a Soviet Light Machine Gun in the other, declaring 'LOOK WHAT I GOT WHILE I WAS IN SCOTLAND!'

Trailblazers of comedy, they were. Still, I kinda have a hard time watching any Monty Python sketches today because middle school was basically three years of non-stop Monty Python quotes. Seriously. They would sit in the back of the classroom and recite the Knights Who Say Ni bit from Holy Grail every single day and laugh it up like it was the funniest thing they ever heard.

I do love them but there's a brilliant xkcd about them: they're a group known and loved for their spontaneity, and yet people still quote them verbatim instead of being funny in an original way.

Personally I find most of their stuff quite crap, but when they have a good sketch it is frakking brilliant!

If you look at every sketch they ever did they fall under one of two catagories:
1: Forgetable and dull
2: A classic

I'm with this poster. For the most part I enjoyed the movies and series but there were some duds, kind of like first season of Saturday Night.

They run the whole gamut of comedy for me, from hilarious to boring to downright offensive at times. Regardless of personal preference however, it's undeniable they were incredibly influential in shaping modern comedy.
