Option 1.

The were very good, but they made some real shit to, like The Meaning of Life.

Graham Chapman was always my favourite.
The catholic sketch and the "every sperm is sacred" song was hilarious.

No. They would fall into my "meh, s'not bad" category if it wasn't for the past 10 years of my life filled with endless quotes out of context (although even in their original context, nyeh) by my friends.
Although I quite like their music; The Universe Song in Meaning of Life was excellent, and Bright Side of Life gave me a giggle.

And the actual Pythons are awesome, I loved John Cleese in Fable, for example, but when Jonathan Ross's character started doing the dead parrot line, A part of me went sad inside.

And I should note that for the sake of balance and fairness, I have seen Life of Brian, Meaning of Life, Holy Grail and a fair amount of Flying Circus, so I do know my source material.

TL;DR They would be middling but their fans ruined it for me.

so... 3? 4?

Stop it!

This thread is far too silly.

What we really need is more people saying why Twilight sucks and asking what you'd do with the last person you killed.

I'd marry them of course. It's the only decent military thing to do.

Now, let's have a decent thread or I'll have to call in the banhammers.

You there!

Yes, you, post a reasonable thread or I'll feed your cat to my horse.

Monty Python is known as one of the best groups of comedians EVER. They made a number of movies, all of wich achieved cult-status(lots of people loving them) and all of them touching a number of controversial points. I love 'em, but wondered how many escapees know about them and what they think of these brilliant gentlemen.

If you never say their movies, or don't know who they are, here's the wikipage:
[link]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Python[/link]
And you also qualify as a so called 'Empty-headed animal food trough wiper'

In case the poll didn't show up:
Option 1: They're awesome.
Option 2: They're good.
Option 3: Meh, They're not bad.
Option 4: Not my kind of thing.
Option 5: It's crap.
Option 6: What's Monty Python?
Option 7: Know them, but never watched their movies
Option 8: Isn't that a type of snake?

Have a taste of their humor, you silly bastards

Edit: nope, the poll indeed did not show. I picked 1, obviously
I don't understand how they're funny at all, alot of their jokes are immature and boring.

I'm a guy who's running for some political offic, and I approve this message.

OT: They seem funny, but I've never seen very many and never a complete movie, just seperate scenes.

I've just got to do it because no one else has.

Option 5 cannot be qualified so I will stick with option four. I cannot stand it, sorry. Someone had to answer the question in the title. Though. The answer is me.

Not flaming, don't want to be flamed. Thank you and goodnight.

Edit: someone did say it. Whoops. I will make it so they are not the only one instead then.

Brilliant and trailblazing at the time? Yes
Still funny today if you don't know/care about the history? Not particularly.

I suppose it's a little like the Beatles' albums: almost everyone who came after them has copied them, so the original no-longer seems that special to people who don't *really* know the genre/medium.

Option 3, they have some good material but the majority does nothing for me, or just does very little.

"This is an Ex-Parrot!" always makes me laugh, as does How Not to Be Seen, but I seem to be one of the few people who found the entirety of the Spanish Inquisition scene to be incredibly unfunny.

I don't. In 7th grade my friend would quote him non stop...
Monty Python isn't a person. It's a group of British comedians. Although that doesn't justify incessant quotes.

EDIT: Derp, forgot to give my opinion.

Love em' lot's, pretty much all of my school days were spent with friends who were heavily influenced by them (in a comedic way.) So my sense of humor has developed as such too. Also, very little offends me because of them either. They thought me to laugh at all the daft shit in this world opposed to ignoring it or letting it drag me down.
