Title says it all, here's more shots of the Spidey suit from the reboot.

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=73812

Gotta be honest, not diggin' on the suit. I don't know if I'm just used to the look of the classic costume, but I don't feel that it needed a redesign... and it definitely didn't need a codpiece.
Please note: these are production shots, so they're going to be crap, and the angles for the last two shots make them look downright hilarious.
So, what do you guys think?

Pictures directly from the set never look like the finished product, otherwise most movies would feature large green screens in every shot.

Are they fucking on those last 2 pics? ROFL And yeah, don't care for what I'm seeing. It looks like a "normal guy" wearing a spidey outfit. Which is not what I wanna see when I see Spider-Man. I hope they CGI it a bit.

Just goes to show the the difference in quality between a a photo taken with a reasonably expensive camera and a footage filmed with cameras worth tens of thousands of pounds. It looks shit now, but the finished product should look clean and crisp.

Why why WHY are they rebooting a series which isn't even 10 years old yet? What are they thinking? What is the point in this? The 2001 Spider-Man film still looks gorgeous and is still as fresh in my mind as when it came out. Just because Spider-Man 3 was a huge let-down, that's not reason enough to reboot the entire franchise! Rage!

Judging by the last 2 pics the new Spider-man is going to be a gay porn parody... Odd.

In all seriousness though I really don't like the new costume, hopefully it'll look better in the films with motion and CGI.

Well of course he's wearing a codpiece, if you were filming Spider Man would you do those kinds of movements without one?
Point taken.

Yea the last 2 pictures look "intresting" to say the least. I dont like the new suit either but it will probably look better in the movie.

I still cant believe they are rebooting Spiderman already Spider Man 3 was released in 2007.
Just 4 years after this movie they are already rebooting a franchise that is waaaaaay too soon in my eyes.

They needed to make another film to avoid the rights to Spidey going back to Marvel, so they rebooted it because (to paraphrase MovieBob) they're afraid of the awesomeness of a "Spider-Man meets The Avengers" movie.

What exactly is wrong with the new suit? As far as I can tell, it's more accurate to the comic than the one in the Sam Raimi movies -- note the web shooters on the wrists. I can understand being iffy on a reboot so close to the last set of films, but the costume doesn't seem to be a negative to me. Does no-one else remember the collective nerd rage that came about from the costume in the first movie?

Edit: In fact, here's a comparison. It looks like the new costume is a comic-accurate rendition of the costume he wore to the wrestling match that is such an important part of the origin story.

They had better have some serious post-production plans for that costume, because at this point that thing is an abomination. Either that, or it better have a damn good reason for looking that way.

The main problem is it looks he has crotch rot. I don't remember the first movie having a problem with that.

It got rebooted because Raimi and Maguire walked, that was the sole reason the decision was taken.

[small]Admittedly Raimi only walked because they wouldn't give him any creative control, but you get my point.[/small]

And I agree. I shall not be seeing this film at any point in my life.

But who knows it could turn out cool. Don't really like this whole trend of remaking everything 1000 times, but its not like Hollywood has any original story lines of their own to use.

It's been confirmed guys!
The reboot is now a soft gay porn film! (srsly, I've never been more confused looking at those last two pics)

Anyway I agree with Echer with saying that pics of costumes on set always look really cheesy esp. in comparison to the finished product. It'll probably look better in the trailer/movie.

Either way, even these terrible photos don't deter me from being excited about seeing Andrew Garfield + Spiderman. Ever since Spiderman 3, I've had a bad taste in my mouth whenever I thought of ol' Spidey, but I'm hoping that'll change with the reboot.

Nerd rage is so hilarious. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that suit. It's pretty much how I would expect Spider-man to look in real life.

If that last picture came with sound, you would've heard a slight whisper: "Give Spidey a kiss!"

Eh, just looks like he's wearing an athletic supporter to me -- something I fully support Spiderman wearing. The character doesn't seem to be physically tough enough to have literal balls of steel, if you take my meaning -- and regardless, the actor playing him is going to need that cup. The crotch does look a little bit darker than the rest of the suit in the pictures, but you have to really be staring at it to notice, and it could easily be a trick of the lighting -- the costume is made out of shiny fabric, and shiny fabric occasionally looks weird from weird angles.
