I think you shouldn't put all officials on one plane. Was it a crash or an attack? If it was a crash, then it's some really bad luck. So Poland has no head of state now? Or an emergency head of state, I presume.
Crash - accidental, it seems.

As for Poland, from what I understand, the Prime Minister wasn't on the plane, and the emergency head of state is the speaker of their parliament, valid until an early election be held for the presidency.

Anywho, a sad, tragic accident at the best of times, but with these people all on board, it's compounded by the knock effects it'll have on the ordinary men and women of Poland - sad, sad day.

Putting all your eggs in one basket like that is ripe for a racial slur. Though poking fun at tragedy is ripe for a snow shovel to the forehead.

I'll tell you one thing: a lot of Polish political underlings just got a real lucky break.

Classic case of putting all of your eggs in one basket, then having your basket crash.

Okay, getting real sick of the jokes now, stop it all of you, this is deadly serious stuff.

My heart goes out to the Polish people, I hope you weather this storm like so many other times of hardship in your country - with stout hearts and brave souls.

The United Kingdom sends its condolences.

Over 80 deaths and the most some people have to say is a cheap crack at UK immigration?

But yeah, my conspiracy sense is tingling; it's a massive blow, inside another country, to vital government members...

We in Britain have a prime minister that has done nothing useful for four years (an a government which has done nothing useful for at least 12 years).
What? Care to support that statement with some fact? Otherwise I suggest you save comments like that for the Religion And Politics forum.
Perhaps it's that I myself as British citizen have not seen any improvements. Perhaps it's that this is the general idea: That welsh government is introducing new uniforms (costing much money), meanwhile government avoids solving issues such as patients on wait lists for the maximum permitted length of time and poor hospital care (my own mother was forced out of hospital, while she still needed treatment. The hospital even said that they'd leave her in the corridor in wheelchair if had to).

Gordon Brown comes in, loses memory sticks (whatever such important data was doing on memory sticks) and makes absurd suggestions such as allowing schools to choose their own independant curriculums.

My statement was prehaps off. I'm sure they've done some useful things. I was merely being over the top, in the way that 9.999 (recurring) is equal to 10. My statement was not even meant to be taken seriously. I'll put my comments where I want, thank you very much.

This should be continued by PM or have a new thread (in Politics/religion section) started on this subject.

The decapitation of Polish government in an air disaster should not be hijacked by a discussion on the merits and failures of British politics. And trust me... I have a LOT I want to say about this.

This is so awful :(
Its such a shame that one country has lost such a majority oif its high ranking officials. I hope it manages to recover without to much harm. xx

Well, it's not a nice thing to hear, but there's little I can do other than the obligatory "I'm sorry".
The reality is that either Poland's government was ready for something terrible to happen when they put all of their important people on one plane and they have some suitable replacements or they were not ready and this causes trouble for years to come.

Poland is basically Eugene from the Hey Arnold show I watched as a kid, nothing ever seems to go right for the poor sods.

Didn't hear about this until I saw your thread. This is absolutely tragic, I can't imagine what life is like for Poland's people right now, with their highest levels of government all needing to start from scratch with new officials. Must be a crazy, mournful time right now.

To make this clear:
Government is alive "only" the president and chiefs of military are dead
Yeah but the government being "wiped out" sounds way better on sky & fox news.

Russian Inglorious B: Poland has all their eggs in one basket. Your mission-destroy the basket.

The plane crashed due to simutainous fire and automatic weapons. It is unknown what the inflight movie was.

Eish. This is bad. I hope the polish are able to recover from this one. You'll probably find that they will get in some good replacements. Hopefully. Although it is still a bit suspicious, I mean, most of the higher up political figures... one plane... crashes... over Russia...

A few years ago I heard some news about a russian plane crash that was even more tragic than this one. It was full of talented young people who were being acknowledged for their skills and engagement. I don't remember the details, but they were basically all very intelligent and promising people who were on this plane exactly because of that.

Well, I think that any humans life should be worth as much as any other's, but it still seems like an incredibly big loss.

Last year I had to take a plane on a Friday the 13th. I don't really believe in any jinx connected to that day, but I still jokingly said something about the date at that time. One day later I heard that a plane crashed near New York and 50 people died on that friday. I wonder if some of them stepped into the plane with the same thoughts "Oh, Friday the 13th... ah, nonsense" or something along those lines. :(
