North of Balmora. Also reachable by mages guild teleportation. I take it you're not interested in the main quest? The game actually does give quite a bit of direction, Caius even recommends that you join a guild.Lemon Of Life said:How dare you insinuate I would skip through an RPG! Where is this Caldera you speak of?bismarck55 said:Did you skip through all the dialog at the beginning? you're given a package that you're supposed to deliver to Caius Cosades (spelling?) in Balmora, witch can be easily reached via the Silt Strider for about 30 GP.Lemon Of Life said:Hey guys, I've just installed Morrowind, and lo and behold - I have no idea what to do? I've trundled around for an hour or so, and it all looks awesome, but I feel like my Dunmer needs some direction. So I call upon you to give me something to do, an objective, a quest or just tell me where something hilarious is!
From what I've heard, there's a ton of stuff in this game, and I'm a little intimidated, so help a brother out, yo.
Or just join a guild, and do their quests. If you want definite short term goal, then go look for Creeper in Caldera.
It's one of the biggest game worlds to exist. It takes awhile to get places.Lemon Of Life said:I'll do my best. Also, how big is the world? Bigger than Oblivion or not?Tankichi said:Find the Talking Mudcrab. He is somewhere south of the Azura Shrine. I thinks thats the name probably not. It'd be better if you google that though. Or level up to 63. That was my highest morrowind level.
Thanks a million, I got a crappy French version which didn't come with it.bismarck55 said:North of Balmora. Also reachable by mages guild teleportation. This map normally comes in the box with the game but it sounds like you don't have it. Should help.

I've already made a thread about this, but if someone knows how to patch the game from French to English, that'd be awesome (I'm originally from France, so I can understand it, but I'd rather it were in English).
No problem. Not sure I can help with language issue though, other than recommending that you ask on the bethesda forums, or failing that check out french elder scrolls modding sites, if there are any (I wouldn't know).Lemon Of Life said:Thanks a million, I got a crappy French version which didn't come with it.bismarck55 said:North of Balmora. Just make sure you've got a slowfalling potion on you. Levitation works too.amaranth_dru said:If you find a guy that fell out of the sky, do not cast the spell he has on him.
Other than that, wander and wander and find your way through the game (you might die a lot, I sure did the first time I played through).
Perfect way to put it I go with exactly this stop using the forums for help and figure it out! :]Vhite said:Playing Morrowind for a first time is like jumping into 3 meters deep pool and you cant swim. Either you will learn to swim and you gonna love it or you will drown and you will never play it again.
You can also just use another one of the scrolls as you land, your acrobatics will be high enough that it won't hurt at allrandomsix said:Step 1: Find the book called Tamrielic Lore

I think you mean Balmora my good sir.Eumersian said:Did you go to Caius yet? That'll be a good place to start. Then join a guild. It's not as overwhelming if you just say "Screw it, I'ma do this!" and then do something decisive. You'll find yourself on some kind of manageable path that way.
I think it's bigger than Oblivion but I might be wrong. Maybe it just feels bigger because there is no fast travel and you can actually get lost. I did and I wanted to find a way to civilization without a map. It took some time I'll tell you that. Damn Morrowind is awesome. Did you buy the expansions as well?Lemon Of Life said:I'll do my best.
