I don't know if it is the most addictive game I ever played. But I beat Mirrors Edge on Normal, (using no guns....test of faith!) then I immediately played it again and beat it on the hard difficulty.
ANd not to just get the achievements I just really enjoyed playing that game.

Would have to be the original EverQuest in 1999-2000. After that, it was the discovery of Morrowind. For a console, it would have to be GTA 3 when it first came out. I was about 15 when I rented it. I had played for 3 days straight without sleeping, as if in a trance. I had played all GTAs before 3 and had always dreamed with my friend what it would be like in a 3D world.

I remember my mom came in and said she was taking the movies back to the store, and asked for the game. It was then I realized I had not turned away from the game once.

Diablo 2, spent years grinding out good items on several builds on several characters. Loved that game. WoW has to be a close second.

Morrowind. I put a whole lot of hours on that game (and that was only the Xbox version)... I can pass Knights of the Old Republic hundreds of times and not get bored. And of course, Legend of Mana, that's all I would play when I was younger.

Dude, remember spending hours trying to get a specific monster egg in Mana?

Took me forever to get the Shadow Zero...

Also, I may just be weird, but I never got addicted to WoW...I seem to be the only one, though, so I guess that's kind of cool.
