MGS1 through to MGS4 great stories and some many characters to get attached to with a lot of sad moments.

Dragon age. It's got that MMO sort of feel when it's always "just one more quest and I'll turn it off.... wait a minute, why is it dark outside?"
+1 like last night for example, i said to myself id turn it off at 10 coz i was tiredish and had other stuff to do, next time i checked it was like 2am :O

Not sure if this is really what you meant but ddr/itg gets me, the combo of the great feeling of a physical work out combined with so clearly seeing yourself advance. Soooo many dollar coins in to those machines.

There was about a year in which I just could not do anything with my free time except play Morrowind. Hundreds of hours with all different characters. So much to do and see.

More recently I'd say that it seemed like I spent more and more time playing Demon's Souls every day until I beat it. I just couldn't get enough.

Rome: Total War was a great game for the old "just one more turn and then I'll go to bed".

Deus Ex. Seriously, I've finished the game so many times and yet I can still find a different skill set to pursue and still I can finish the game without problems. Great story, great atmosphere and it's so flexible it puts the acrobats at the circus to shame.
Well said such a unique and classic game that everyone should play once.

Personally im a JRPG person. I've finished 10/13 Final Fantasy games, currently addicted to FFXII, even though i've already completed it.

En masse, The Sims franchise. I've never seen such a simple concept vacuum people in like it has.

AC2 and Mafia 2.They're not those games with various endings or moral choices but they're just so entertaining to play you can't stop playing them until you finish 'em.

Mass Effect 2. Over 20 playthroughs with more planned.

The Monster Hunter series as well. Over 300 hours on each PSP title.

Dragon Age: Origins.

I can seriously get sucked into that game for hours and not even notice. Except for when I'm in the Deep Roads... I'm not fond of the Deep Roads.

Both Mass Effect games are also up there as well.

Funny thing is I think I spend more time in those games talking to people than I do fighting.

Back in the day for me it was Final Fantasy 8....now it's demon souls. No matter how may times i get my butt handed to me, i always pick up that controller again ( I must be a glutton for punishment).

right. deep roads pretty much turned me off the game. I used to play it almost non-stop and then in deep roads, I lost interest.

Red Dead Redemption had me going back to play the single player quite a bit.
Assassins Creed in general, but for personally, specifically the first one.
Pretty much anything Bethesda has made.
And minecraft.

Personally, Final Fantasy IX and the Spyro trilogy. Obviously, nostalgia plays a factor.

I've played out each of the original Spyro titles about 25 times.
And I play out FF IX about once a year.
