I mean, currently we only use about 5% of our brain.
That's a myth. True, only 10% of our brain is dedicated to conscious thought. But the rest unconsciously processes your senses, regulates heartbeat & breathing & digestion, and even unconsciously processes language. If you tried to make 100% of your brain think, you'd be dead in seconds.

Barring that, the liver. The only internal organ that can regenerate. Seriously. That shit's not to be taken lightly.
That, and it has over 500 different functions. Best organ ever.

I'm gonna say something completely different and go with the face. Hundreds upon hundreds of muscles acting in perfect unison, making the subtlest of adjustments to an expression that always says more than any novel worth of words possibly could.

It's hard to call the brain advanced from my standpoint. Every animal on the planet (and those long gone) has/had one, and we can only speculate as to how similar their brain functions are to ours. We can hypothesize, but no more. The brain surely seems highly advanced, but mainly because it's so mysterious.

But a face? No other, not ONE creature on the planet is as expressive with such subtlety and range of emotion as displayed on a human face.

Olfactory system as it might use quantum tunnelling to work.
And yet, we have a very limited sense of smell compared to other creatures...

Anywho, I'm going to have to go with the mob here and say 'the Brain' too, just because its the most complex organ in the whole body, is complable of being cut in half and still working, and is just so complex that we can never really predict what damage will do to it - and its complexity allows for Genius's, Savants, and Super Savants - the last 2 being often capable of feats that rival humans or even our machines.

Dull answer really, as everyone else has covered the ground, but its still the one of the few organs in out bodies that really stands out against all other creatures - well, that and our bipedal locomotion, which is pretty unique even agmonst the apes and monkeys.

Instead of rattling off whichever organ is the most advanced, think about this. Everything in your body is working together to keep you alive. The central nervous system sends signals to the heart telling it to pump blood throughout the body, the respiratory system transports oxygen to the cells via the circulatory system, everything works together in perfect teamwork. There isn't a single part of your body that is unnecessary. To me, that is what is so advanced about the human body.

Most people will go with the Brain or the Immune System. I think the most advanced part in the body would be the Thyroid Gland. The Thyroid Gland produces thyroxine which affects almost of of the cells by regulating their metabolic rates.

The appendix. So goddam awesome we don't know what it does.
Not true actually. People have known for years that the appendix is a left over organ that used to be for breaking down tough plant matter when we were still hunter gatherers, but it still hasn't phased out of our evolution yet. The reason it becomes inflamed and needs removal is because in some cases small pieces of food will still get sent there, but it no longer has an exit, so it just sits there for an extremely long time, unabsorbable and unused. If enough food is sent to it then that is what causes most appendicitis.

EDIT: Forgot to put down my vote for best body part award! I'm gonna vote for the Eye. Seriously, without it you wouldn't even be reading this thread, or percieving the world as we know it. Without the eye humans would have evolved as cave dwellers that never even encountered the light of day.

Gonna have to say the brain, because even if it were simple for us to understand, we still couldn't. A fatty lump that makes consciousness happen? Everything else seems to pale in comparison.

Brain.

I know what you all mean about the brain, however, isn't that more of less the possible POTENTIAL of the brain. I mean, currently we only use about 5% of our brain. Sure, if we were able to use all of our brain, all of the mechanics and everything in it, the possibilities would be endless, but we can't... that's kind of the reason why I don't agree with that. I might IF we knew and could utilize all of our brain. Then that would be cool.
No we use 100% of our brain all the time, 5% is just a myth created by junky Buddhist monks.

Brain because without it your thumb would never be able to give a thumbs up, and then the world would fall into chaos. Obviously.
