Prince of Persia hands down.. Since you have to go around collecting all those orbs to progress in the game.

Whats bugged me is that I could only get 199 gold bananas in Donkey Kong on 64.. the last one I just couldnt do..

Anything that is not in game content, because it takes up space, I still have some Halo 3 wall graffix on my desk, in the box.

Burnout: Paradise, 400 crash gates. Eyes were bleeding into the night trying to find numbers #399 and #400. Got 'em eventually, though - fulfilling!
You know, depending on the system you play Burnout Paradise on, you can upload your save to a page on the Criterion Games website and it tells you where missing items are? This is how I found my last 3 gates (I had completed the game 3 times before and THEN the trophies came out <_<, couldn't be bothered with anything that wasn't a trophy requirement lol)

Fuck you Realtime Worlds.
I got them three times, and same with the Special Orbs.

I just happened to love that game and had two friends who wanted me to complete it for them... So I did...

Over 2000 of them. 2000!!!!!! You can't can't take a bloody step without seeing 3 of them in the distance which makes you spend time getting them. And when you swing up to the first one you are bound to see 5 more. It is so frustrating because they do serve a purpose other than just being there (they upgrade your speed and health I believe) and collecting them gives you levels. There is 11 levels and you need to collect 2000 to get to level 11. I call shenanigans. I was really beginning to hate it til I said screw it and started ignoring them and just played the story.
What was their power levels?

Call of Duty 4.

I was collecting the laptops as I played through, but I was still missing one. Not being too concerned about it, I just kept playing through the game. One day while screwing around on easy I enabled a few cheats and was having a good time when I came across the one laptop I had not picked up. I stopped, disabled my cheats (because it says you cannot gather achievements while cheats are active), and picked up the laptop.

No achievement. I should've known better. I restarted the level, but the DAMN LAPTOP WAS GONE.

So, because CoD 4 now says I have collected all of the intel items, it will never appear again. I've tried removing the game files from my 360, but the intel items will not reappear. Now I'm stuck at 980 points... CoD 4 was going to be the first game I had every achievement on. :(

Rayman "You can't get to the boss until you find every single well hidden secret in the whole game"
Turok "You can't even get into the next level unless you find every single well hidden secret"

Then again I'm thoroughly annoyed by any game that hides permanent powerups in linear levels that you travel through only once with anything you don't grab being lost forever (or lost without significant effort to grab it) and being pretty much expected to find a good number of them to be strong enough to face later levels. All this find-the-secrets crap made it pretty much impossible to simply progress quickly, you have to search your environments and always make sure you don't accidentally progress past the point of no return during your search. Make it across the big pit in your first attempt? Better go down anyway to check if anything of value is down there. Cleared the room? Better spend five minutes looking for hidden crap so you won't be underpowered. It kills the whole flow of the game. Permanent secret powerups in linear games must die.
