Those poor Rebels at the end of Half Life 2:

They follow you around a storm into rooms only managing to paint the walls in their OWN blood and it's all YOUR fault

Navi didn't annoy me all that much, mainly 'cause I could ignore her which I did for most of the game, which is how I discovered that she doesn't actually say "Hey listen."

I have to agree with the Adoring Fan from Oblivion, that guy is annoying and he won't die no matter how many times you kill him. You can even admin console kill him and he'll still come back. Other then him, I'd Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass got on my nerves a lot.

Meryl from Metal Gear Solid. She is your companion for all of five minutes before getting you into deep shit.

Actually, all of them in any game ever. Especially when their deaths mean game over. You spend 10 hours building up your character into a massive beefcake, armed to the teeth, and then the game decides to snuff you out based on your lack of ability to protect a stupid AI (that the developers programmed) which wanders into the path of every single missle which gets fired.

Theres been some annoying companions but that mole from animal crossing who shows up when ever you dont save is thee most annoying character I have ever seen in a video game...

Hes not a companion as you mentioned...
Id say those cats in the Monster Hunter Freedom games... particularly the ones who go on quests with you in MHFUnite.

The worst part is, Linebeck wasn't the most annoying part of that game. That FREAKIN' temple that you have to do around 60,000 times...

Memories are flooding back where I had to get something from A to B and it had a tendency to explode when touched by anything causing me to back track again.

That would be my worst companion - a box or some other object that you must escort or protect over a long period of time and which has a tendency to explode very easily.

What game was it?...Must of purged it from my mind...

Eh, Navi isn't really that bad. I -never- noticed she was remotely annoying until the INTERNET told me so.

Left 4 Dead 2. Coach.
Many controller-breaking moments. D=

Yes, but the question was "most annoying companion" so I couldn't list it.

At their worst, the guys in SWAT 4.

'Sir, you're in my spot'

And then you go into a room, guns blazing and find they're still looking at a wall two rooms back, and then you die.
thats why i was always playing multiplayer with a hardcore clan who in the end banned me because i opened a door without the leaders permission >.>

OT: I say Ashley from Resident Evil 4. Her phrases actually are genuinely annoying in themselves.
Definitely agree with you there, not just for the phrases. She probably was the most helplessly annoying NPC I played with, more so in my opinion than Sheva.

Meryl, I hated having to tour her ass arond and then she get shot by wolf and you have to all the back to near the beging of the game to get a sniper rifle so you can not save her.
