Most annoying minor characters

For me there is a difference between who I, as a player outside of game find annoying, and who my character in game finds annoying.

For example, that Turian council member annoyed my Shepherd but didn't annoy me as a player. Why? Because I understood who the Turian was and why the Turian had the position it did. I understand the character was meant to annoy Shepherd in game. And I think they did a good job with it. So I am not personally annoyed by the Turian, just my Shepherd. I enjoyed that the Turian is in the game, making the game world complicated. It's the same with the reporter. That reporter really annoys my Shepherd...but I enjoy the experience.

But then there are the characters that annoy *me.* These are characters that the designers don't mean to be annoying. These are characters that detract from the experience for me, not add to it.

So annoying minor characters:
Any black character in Still Life (modern black people in Chicago should not sound like Gone With the Wind slaves)
...this can be expanded to any character with really bad voice acting
Vanille and characters like her (I do not like the sexualization of infantilization. That character is an adult, she should act like it. Being an incompetent damsel in distress when you have the same powers as everyone else is really irritating)

Miranda from Mass Effect 2. Not only a racist, smug, whiny, self-entitled, self-important, conniving, annoying terrorist, but they keep on trying to push her as being 'beautiful' and 'somehow sexier than Liara or Kasumi' even though her face is roughly comparable to a particularly muddy boot.

Oh, and she bullies Jack. As in, calls her into her office to make fun of her being REPEATEDLY GANG RAPED AND ABUSED BY THE VERY ORGANISATION SHE REPRESENTS and then when I call her out going in a hissy fit that lead to Tali dying because I couldn't buy her upgrade.

Seriously, I'd rather have the Adoring fan from Oblivion on my ship.

TL;Dr: Miranda's bad.

Sandal, Dragon Age. Bioware never fails to bring the unfunny, and it's particularly awkward when they seem to think that a mentally disabled kid is inherently humorous.

I didn't think he was supposed to be funny in Origins, just kind of endearing.

But then they went and dialed it up to 11 in DA2, like they did with everything else, and tried to make a joke out of him. And the results were just awful, of course.

Sandal in Origins wasn't mentally retarded, he was Autistic. And it made sense. Some Autistic people cannot function in society but are extremely skilled at something a lot of 'normal' people find difficult, like complex math theories and music. They are called Autistic savants. Severe Autistics are often non-verbal, sometimes with the exception of one or two words. Sounds just like Sandal to me.

Then... Dragon Age 2 came along, and they made him mentally retarded. When Bohdan called him a 'savant' I wanted to scream at the monitor. He /was/ an Autistic Savant. Now he's talking in that slow, exaggerated tone. He's also speaking in short sentences. It was another huge misstep in the continuity-fail-tango that was Dragon Age 2.

My choice are the voices of the Protoss Nexus, Zerg Queen and Adjutant of Starcraft 2. "You have not enough minerals. Spawn more Overlords. Insufficient Vespene gas." I understand they serve a purpose, but it becomes so constant and freaking annoying when you're trying to get things done down to the correct second. I WILL have enough minerals the second that little probe touches the Nexus, stfu and get to work!

It's also bad when I'm in one room with me, my boyfriend, his brother, and our friend all playing. I'm Protoss, my bf and our friend are Zerg, and his brother is Terran. The cacophony of their competition in the heat of battle is QUITE obnoxious. "You have not enough spawn more Nuclear launch detected." That translates to "oh f*ck me."

Whoever at Bethesda was responsible for his creation needs to be given the "Tsar Nicholas II treatment".

Thank you, I'd forgotten that little arse's name. He's definitely one of the people in that game I'd kill for the fun of it rather than for his items.
