Mostly the whole euro-dollar thing. It's rather ridiculous that euro users pay a lot more than dollar users do.

Downloads sometimes are rather icky too, like they're stuck on Download Starting for a while. On the other hand, Steam often manages to drag another 200kb/s out of my connection, sometimes even more. My top download speed with Steam was 1.2 mb/s, when I download something directly from my browser it never goes above 850kb/s.

*cries that I can't get Steam*
No you don't. [https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8360-wejc-2625]

I use ClickandBuy myself, it's a little too easy to use perhaps... I buy so much stuff from Steam, 14 games last Christmas sale.

I dislike the fact that you don't truly own the game.
You never do that, not with any piece of software you buy, digital or retail. You only buy the rights to use it, you never own it.

steam support sucks, it takes them a week to respond to my question and all they do is tell me to contact someone else! and just getting to support was a pain

The most annoying thing I find about Steam is the fact I can't display all of my games on my bedroom wall. I like boxes... :/

They don't have cards similar to iTunes cards.

1. I don't own a bank account
2. I doubt I could get one
3. It's very annoying to dig out the cards when you want to purchase a game.

Offline mode requires an internet connection.

If I may, as crass as it can be, I shall award myself a /thread.

Good day. *tips hat*
Not true. I've used Offline Mode plenty of times without an internet connection.

My only problem with steam (since i dont actually buy anything from steam nor play online games on steam) Is that if I dislike a steam game say civ 5, i cant resell the damn thing making it a complete waste of my hard earned cash

That's why you play a demo if you're not sure about a game. And yes, I checked, Civ V has a demo.

Most annoying thing about Steam? Unstable client that relies too heavily on flash video. Causes a lot of memory holes.

O, captcha Jesus, what should I do?

use tegany

Gee, thanks!

The sales are what annoy me the most about Steam, because I then buy everything because it's cheap. :)

The fact that games I buy full price generally go on sale 4 minutes later

and the fact that sales are so enticing. I spent £100 on games at christmas

well, what's your most annoying thing about steam? mine would be that you can't play games while downloading another game. I bought the hitman pack, and i'm itching to play my games, but it pauses the download every time. On a side note, can someone tell me why it does this?
I thnk it pauses games to stop it lagging when you play online games, incase you forgot you were downloading a game. Or maybe the steam cloud cant work properly without the download stopping. Still, this doesent explain why it does it to ALL games.

I'm quite happy with Steam.

I was having issues logging in from time to time saying the operation was already running, but I learned if I just let it be it signed in fine. Maybe I was just too impatient.

I really love Steam with the Summer and Christmas sales. The weekly ones are fine, but rarely have anything I want.

Worst thing I had was I bought a game that the next day was 75% off.

I can install my copy of, to choose a random example, Arcanum on any computer that I want, use it as soon as it installs (and any other time I wish to play it) and it will never be withheld from me.

In my experience, and from the experiences of other people, most of this (I concede that you can install the game on any computer) is not true with Steam, where a game can be withheld from being played, requires Steam to use and can occasionally be completely unable to play for reasons unknown.

You can argue that digital delivery platform and yadda yadda yadda, but, GOG.com.

The thing that annoys me most aobut Steam is 1.) The insanely long download times. 2.) Why arent all games Steam-Play? It kind of seems pointless buying a game only to be buying it again.

I'm really quite happy with Steam. Sure it doesn't work perfectly 100% of the time, but what does?

Again, that can technically happen to almost every piece of software you "own".

Fact is, you never own the game you buy, you rent the rights to use the software. Steam has this, GOG.com has this, disc-delivered games have this and a bucketload of other software has this.

Given, it's easier to do so with Steam as every game you buy is automatically registered to a certain account.
