There was that Elizabeth Green in Prototype that was a *****. I was dealing so little damage I thought I was doing it wrong Probably was.
That.

The boss has a move that essentially one-shots you if are standing near it and will use it without remorse. As a result, you have to stand behind cover a lot and hide. This is complicated by the unending horde of small enemies that are sent after you during the fight as well. To hurt the boss you first have to destroy several key protective points (that are damaged very slowly) before she becomes vulnerable for a brief window of time. The net result is that the huge amount of life has to be wilted away by the occasional hit and run move that you can get in between waiting for her one-shot to pass and trying not to get blind-sided by the smaller enemies. Either it takes a frustratingly long time or you get killed in a few seconds. Poor design is poor.
I found this boss very easy.
I simply munched pedestrians until I was in critical mass, run up a building and use the ground-spike graveyard-air-move-thing.
Usually this opens her up for an attack, use charged palm-strike-tentacle move.
Do damage.
Start running and eating pedestrians.
Rinse and repeat.

He never moved, so if you had five bombs, he went down like a rock.

Of course, it was rare to have five stray bombs. :p
It's not that he's hard to defeat, it's simply that I don't want to use any bombs on a guy that's not that hard to defeat, but it takes AGES to bring his health down, if you want to be economic :)

Onimusha 2. This guy. never swore so much playing a game before he showed up.

Gogandantess

Bastard had faster attacks than you, stronger attacks than you, could hit you at long range, dodge 50% of your attacks, block and counter 49%, occasionally flipped over your head and cut your backside to ribbons, AND even if you managed to land a hit on him, it did significantly less damage than on any other enemy in the game. Pretty much all the other enemies were really slow or at least turned around fairly slow and this guy could leap over your head from 20 feet away, and back before you knew where the mouthy git was. Character-wise he was also a prick, which made the unskippable cutscene before every try of his THREE seperate fights even more annoying.

I gave up on one playthrough and started the whole thing again because i got to the fight with him on the beach, no health items, no talismans and only half a health bar. maybe two attacks and i would have to sit through the cutscene again, decided i'd have a better chance by trying to getg throught all the rest of the game getting more of the health items than getting past that fuck.

Seymore Flux, Sinspawn Gui, Evrae and one more I can't quite remember from Final Fantasy X.

Although there's one boss that almost made me snap my controller.
...Bed of Chaos from Dark Souls.
So. Fucking. Cheap.

Just...ugh. UGH.
Really? I get that Seymore can be cheap what with his zombie attack followed by auto-life but its easily avoided, I will admit that in my recent playthrough he did beat me the first time around but once I knew what he was going to do I prepared for it by having a quick word with Wantz to get some zombie warding items and holy water to make some of my own.

If your going to give an example of a cheap boss in ff-x then it ought to be Yunalesca since she uses a similar trick to Seymore in phase 2 but casts Megadeath on any characters not zombified when she transitions into phase 3 and will continue to use it for the rest of the encounter, its fairly easy to avoid this once you know whats going on but the first transition to p3 left me scratching my head and since she used it again after I had used haste I assumed having haste on a character was the trigger so I tried to avoid using it while still keeping zombie to a minimum and got my ass handed to me again, silly mistake I know but its one which lead me to believe that boss deserves the cheap boss top spot.
