This has almost definately been mentioned before as to me this is one of the most widespread annoying noises in one of the worlds most fampous games: the low health sound from every single pokemon game ever made the sound just never stops and it can be hard to get rid of if you're such a low level that you can't carry round limitless potions so you end up dreading every single step in a cavefpr fear of a battle not because you could lose because you know that you only know normal moves and if you come face to face with a geodude then you will be stuck for quarter of an hour with that music on a constant loop that never ends or changes

edit: the guild master from the original Fable as well, I don't know if you guys already know this but the developers realised everyone found him so irratating that one of the messages on the loading screen says 'when the Guildmaster was found murdered the words "your health is low" were carved into his forehead' God that made me laugh when I first read that!

yeah the Guildmaster from Fable takes the cake on annoying.

God I was so glad to kill the bastard.

This. The Guildmaster was such a pain in the ass. I am aware that i am low on health damnit!
IIRC in Fable 2 there was a note saying that the guildmasters body was found with the words "Your health is low" carved into is forehead. At least someone at Lionhead Studios agreed that he was annoying.

I personally hate games that only have one foot step noise so all you hear is a repetitive tap tap tap everywhere you go.

oh man, that is so true, I remember in Doom 3 being ear raped by only 2 footsteps sounds in the whole silent corridor

The sound of the Ghost thing coming out when you're running out of time in Bubble Bobble. That together with the music speeding up never fails to freak me the hell out. Actually now that I think about it: games these days just don't have subtle cues like that to emotionally manipulate you anymore.

I, like many of you, also hate Navi, Link's low health and the Fable "your health is low" thing.

But I actually like some footsteps in games, notably Halo 2. Have you ever listened closely to the footsteps in that game? They almost sound like you are walking in a puddle or something. I love the sound.
