The Four Horsemen by Metallica (1983) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4nCy5CITc8

Mechanix by Megadeth (1985) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0esBAj3ZoaY

Preferred if they just made a cover because I prefer The Four Horsemen.
Dave Mustain wrote that song before he was kicked out. Technically, the song still belonged to Metallica so they went ahead and recorded it even after Mustain was gone. So it's more of a copyright struggle, really.
I know. I was just told earlier today. Thank you anyway. At least he was still given credit according to wiki.

This luckily only existed in the Netherlands
Hot 'n' Cold-Katy Perry <-original
I have a nice telephone-Some band of douchebags, I don't know the name <-shameless copy
Beat Music everything is just a copy-paste except for the lyrics, probably because they thought Katy Perry was EE~VIL after her first song -.- so they replaced the original lyrics with new ones that talk about being SOOO happy to have your own mobile phone...*barf*

That's Technologic by Daft Punk :]

Hyper Music by Muse - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CRc30ynfd4

Has pretty much exactly the same guitar riff as:

Snake Charmer by Rage Against The Machine - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpX0NTEnDtc

That new Kid Rock song and Sweet Home Alabama
I can't believe they are getting away with it too
The problem with that song is that while listening I expect him to start singing 'sweet home alabama" and get let down when the end comes and he doesn't. It's anticlimactic.

He didn't just rip off Sweet Home Alabama in that song, the introduction and main theme is almost completely identical to 'Werewolves of London'
Yeah someone showed me a link, at least when Sweet Home ripped off it, atleast they improved it massively and added new stuff

Yeah I know what you mean; I despise Kid Rock for not just ripping it off but for years of shitty music. I mean American badass was the worst because it just makes him look like the stereotypical southerner white trash kind of person

Guys... Stop holding up rap songs and saying "ZOMG steeld it!!". "Sampling" has been a part of rap from the very start, rap originated from Jamacians "toasting", were people would take the instrumental sections of records, loop them and perform improvised lyrics over the top. Cheaper than buying instruments, and can give as many songs as you want. Samples are as much a part of rap as guitar solos are of rock/metal.
Big difference between sampling and rapping over the top of the exactly same melody/chord progression.

That's an insult to true samplers.

Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girl featuring the beat of Ben E. King's Stand By Me. It's almost subliminal.

No, I actually think Vanilla Ice said that it was different because Under Pressure goes "bah dah dah dah dah dah duh. Bad dah dah dah dah dah duh." and his song goes "bah dah dah dah dah dah duh, ba bah dah dah dah dah dah duh."

Yeah...
I'm pretty sure that implies that Vanilla Ice is dumb more than anything else. It's a blatant ripoff, nothing else can be said.

The Four Horsemen originally was Mechanix, Dave Mustaine wrote it and Metallica played it live before he left, after Mustaine left James Hetfield changed the lyrics, added the bridge and it became The Four Horsemen. The song is actually credited to Mustaine, as are quite a few other songs from Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning. Technically Metallica copied Dave Mustaine.

Compare Kraftwerk's Computer Love [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEBPzD3MPWE] and Coldplay's Talk [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N9rH2x5KUw&feature=fvw]. Then again, it's hard to count all those remixes of oldies they keep churning out these days, each of 'em worse than this little plagiarism.
