Right, so this has been done before as the best game soundtrack before, but now I want to be more specific. What game, according to you, had the most catchy game tune in an intro or title screen in your memory? Feel free to post several games if you cant make up your mind.
I am not meaning, would you record/rip it and put it on your mp3 player (most game tunes don't work that way), but what tune made you feel pumped up and interested in the game and made you REALLY want to push that start button and get in game?
I'll start with one of my favorites: Turrican 2
Not only was the music a technical marvel at the time, (seven channel music and one FX channel on hardware that could only support four channels natively), but it was catchy as hell as well.
I could sit in front of the monitor and just dig the tune, knowing that I was prolonging the sweet gameplay, but thinking it as all worth it because the song was just awesome. Also, to trigger the intro demo, you had to listen to the whole song before the start of the demo triggered, but I didn't mind much.
There is an original version here: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Fvha_2hAzq0
Original demo included for added bonus. Not much now, but it was sweet at the time.
And an awesome remix here: http://www.remix64.com/member_awesome_a.html
There are also heaps of .mod's and mp3's scattered all over the intarweb in honour to this fantastic game.
Now, please share yours! Or I'll cut ya!
